UP Manila Catholic Students' Community (UP Manila Campus Ministry Office) The Sacraments are visible signs of invisible grace instituted by Christ himself.
In the Eucharist, in particular, we find the source and summit of our Christian Life from which we are invited to draw deeply. Therefore, among the primary duties of the Campus Ministry Office is to attend to the sacramental and pastoral needs of the UP Manila community through daily, weekend, and campus-wide Masses, retreats, faith communities, and spiritual direction. WE HAVE COME TO THE END OF OUR PASKO-KAISA JOURNEY. Here to cap our 51-day presentation are the Benedictine Nuns of the Eucharistic King.
On October 5, 1931, the Church welcomed the birth of the Benedictines of the Eucharistic King in Pacdal, Baguio. The foundation is the offspring of Rev. Mother Edeltraud Danner’s call from God to found a new community composed of contemplatives and missionary sisters. The new foundation flourished under the patronage of His Excellency, the Most Rev. Santiago Sancho, DD.
In 1934 the Community transferred to Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur from Pacdal, Baguio. The community attracted so many vocations that they had to look for a bigger place to accommodate the ever-increasing number of members. In 1946, they acquired a lot at Pantay (later named Fatima) and transferred the year after.
The sisters in the community continued with their social and apostolic works while the contemplative nuns supported the sisters with their prayers, fasting and sacrifices. In 1986, Rome granted the nuns and the sisters a 3-year transition for the sisters to form their own autonomous congregation. This effected the separation of the Benedictine Nuns and the Benedictine Sisters of the Eucharistic King. Today, both the contemplative nuns and the missionary sisters have bloomed into their own autonomous congregations.
The Benedictine Nuns started with the Mother House in Vigan then it branched out to Digos, Cogon City and to Salong in Calapan City in Mindoro. These houses are now autonomous abbeys of the Congregation. There are two (2) dependent houses/cella; one in Nalseb, Tublay, Benguet and another in Tagum City.
========
On behalf of AMRSP Media and the congregations who joined us during the last 51 days, we wish to thank you for joining us in this Christmas journey. May Christ's light shine in our hearts and bring us together as one.

THIS EVENING, we will be joined by the seminarians of the Priests of the Sacred Heart (SCJ), more commonly known as the Dehonians.
This Congregation started in Saint-Quentin in France, founded by Venerable Leo Dehon in 1878. The missionary impetus of the founder was to build God’s kingdom of justice and love amidst the injustice, poverty and neglect in 19th century France. Today, the Dehonians continue this mission in more than 40 countries, including the Philippines. Here, they have been present since 1989, and are involved in various pastoral and social activities, particularly in the island of Mindanao.
To know more about the Dehonians and their ministry, visit their website (scjphil.org) and their official page, Dehonians Philippines.

As we commemorate the death and resurection of our Lord, the UP Manila Catholic Students' Community invites you to join the Holy Week activities in the Archdiocese of Manila and the UP PGH Chaplaincy.
January 25 is the Feast day of the Conversion of St. Paul. As the titular Patron of the UP Manila Catholic Students' Community and the UP Manila Campus Ministry Office, there will be a mass at 5pm in the UP-PGH Chapel.
Like St. Paul, Iskolars ng Bayan para sa Bayan are zealous advocates. His conversion symbolizes the courageous battle of Iskos and Iskas for social justice. Together with St. Paul's conversion, may we open our eyes to today's society and be staunch defenders of equality.
All students are encouraged to join the celebration.
Matatapang. Matatalino. Walang Takot Dahil Kay Kristo.
The University of the Philippines Manila Catholic Students' Community express its sadness on the announcement of the High Court's ruling in favor of the late dictator's internment in the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
As Filipinos, we have stood, and will consistently stand, with the entire UP community in protesting the hagiagization of the late strongman, the zenith of which will be reached through his internment in our national pantheon, which was erected in memory of our heroes.
As Catholic Iskolars ng Bayan para sa Bayan, we hold that contrite repentance and acknowledgement of the human, political, economic and cultural atrocities committed during the Marcos regime will be a pre-requisite for our healing as a country. Without such, we will continue to rub the open wounds of many of our countrymen, especially those who have experienced the pain and suffering of Martial rule, whether personally or through the vicarious experiences of their loved ones.
While we recommend the soul of Ferdinand Marcos to the mercy of the Almighty Father, we strongly believe that it is an injustice for him to be interred in the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Like Saint Augustine, we will continue to make the argument that while the matter passes the test of what is legal, it will never pass the test of what is moral. Individually and collectively, we will continue to make the clarion call against historical revisionism, and at the same time continue the important work of promoting justice and peace.
Join us in a Solidarity Mass at the PGH Chapel, Friday 5pm.
