Good news, Sinta!

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) has officially partnered with the Adelaide Institute of Higher Education 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Internationalization.

The ceremony, held on March 25, 2026, was hosted by the Department of Economics in coordination with the International Relations Office, the Economics Research Society, and the College of Social Sciences and Development.

PUP Executive Vice President Alberto Guillo warmly welcomed the AIHE delegation, while AIHE CEO Fatima Reyes-Della Verde expressed strong commitment to the partnership. Both leaders shared inspiring messages, highlighting this milestone as the beginning of even greater collaborations ahead.

Under the agreement, PUP and AIHE will collaborate on joint research, student and faculty exchanges, international conferences, and academic resource sharing, with priority focus on MSME Development, Cooperative Economics, Business Economics, Industry and Trade, and Public Policy.

Ngayong araw, higit nating pinapahalagahan ang bawat ambag at tagumpay ng mga kababaihan sa komunidad, sa sining, sa pamumuno, at sa iba’t ibang larangan ng buhay. Higit pa sa pagdiriwang, ito rin ay malakas na panawagan para sa mas malawak na karapatan at pagkakapantay-pantay sa isang inklusibong lipunan.

Naririnig ka. Sapat ka. Mahalaga ka. 𝐘𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬!

𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚.

The PUP Department of Economics proudly welcomed home the Bachelor in Applied Economics (BAE) Batch 1983-1984 for their reunion at the PUP NALLRC Silid Lakandayang.

It was a beautiful merging of generations, as members of the PUP Economics Research Society and ECONLENS also joined the celebration to show their respect and appreciation, and to document the legacy that Batch '83-'84 has built for the department.

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to the batch for generously donating a brand-new TCL 2HP window-type air conditioner. The department highly appreciates this gift.

The rest of the day was spent catching up over fun games, raffle draws, and video greetings from alumni abroad. The batch also watched a special video compilation prepared by PUPDE and PUP ECONRES-Alumni Relations.

To cap off the reunion, the PUP Economics Research Society guided our returning alumni on a walking tour around the campus to revisit the once-familiar school grounds and reminisce.

Through this effort, the Department of Economics, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, together with the PUP Economics Research Society, continues to show that being an economist means more than studying numbers. It aims to respond to real needs and help create more opportunities where they matter the most.
