𝐁𝐒 𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐂𝐒 𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋 𝐈𝐕 𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐃

In our 67th year as a department, we are proud to share that the Bachelor of Science in Economics Program of PUP retained its Level IV on the 2nd Cycle of Accreditation. This achievement inspires us to continue striving in become more dynamic, innovative, and efficient in delivering instruction, research, and extension services.

Last September 2025, the department conducted a Graduate Tracer Survey as part of the preparation for the accreditation. With the help of the current students and alumni, the department was able to produce outputs that reflect our commitment to quality assurance, accountability, and responsiveness to the evolving needs of our graduates and the society.

We extend our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the faculty members—the Quality Assurance Council (QAC) and the university officials for their guidance, assistance, and unwavering commitment throughout our re-accreditation journey. Your leadership and support have been instrumental in sustaining our standards of excellence.

We are equally grateful to our partners, stakeholders, alumni, and the entire student body for their trust, encouragement, and participation. We will continue to serve with excellence and purpose.

Here we are, making it into the PL/DL list 🥳📚 Celebrate your every little sacrifices–𝘱𝘶𝘺𝘢𝘵, 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘥, 𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘺-𝘴𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘢 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴–kasi lahat ‘yon hindi nasayang at sumakses.

May mga araw na gusto mo sumuko—yung tipong nakatitig ka na lang sa notes mo pero wala nang pumapasok, at tanging inspiration mo na lang maging delulu sa baby mo 😌✨.

Ruffa Mae once said, “𝙂𝙊, 𝙂𝙊, 𝙂𝙊! 𝙏𝙊𝘿𝙊 𝙉𝘼 ‘𝙏𝙊!” — at literal na ginawa mo ‘yon, kahit ubos na ang brain cells at kape na ang dugo mo ☕😂

Sa Dugo at Lila: Mga Sugat ng Kasaysayan at Walang Hanggang Aklat ng Paglaban, ang bawat talumpati, talakayan, at kuwentong maririnig natin ay isang pahina sa walang-hanggang aklat ng ating paglaban para sa bawat babaeng nanahimik nang sapilitan, at para sa bawat isa sa atin na lumalaban.

Halina’t, sama-sama tayong, kumilos, at ipaglaban ang karapatan ng kababaihan.

Maligayang Pandaigdigang Araw ng Kababaihan! 💜✊

Ngayong araw, higit nating pinapahalagahan ang bawat ambag at tagumpay ng mga kababaihan sa komunidad, sa sining, sa pamumuno, at sa iba’t ibang larangan ng buhay. Higit pa sa pagdiriwang, ito rin ay malakas na panawagan para sa mas malawak na karapatan at pagkakapantay-pantay sa isang inklusibong lipunan.

Naririnig ka. Sapat ka. Mahalaga ka. 𝐘𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬!

𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗼𝘀 𝗻𝗮 𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗮 - ito ay isang panatang patuloy na isinusulat sa bawat panahong pinipili nating manindigan para sa 𝓴𝓪𝓽𝓸𝓽𝓸𝓱𝓪𝓷𝓪𝓷, 𝓴𝓪𝓵𝓪𝔂𝓪𝓪𝓷, 𝓪𝓽 𝓫𝓪𝔂𝓪𝓷.
Noong 1986, ipinakita ng EDSA na ang tunay na lakas ng demokrasya ay nagmumula sa mamamayan. Hindi ito simpleng pag-aalsa laban sa isang diktadura, kundi kolektibong paninindigan laban sa pang-aabuso, katiwalian, at paninikil sa karapatang pantao. Sa gitna ng takot at panganib, nanaig ang tapang, pagkakaisa, at pananalig na siyang mga naging haliging nagpatibay sa diwa ng People Power.

𝐀𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐚 𝐤𝐚𝐡𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐃𝐒𝐀 ay hindi lamang tungkol sa pagbabalik ng malayang halalan o pagpapanumbalik ng mga institusyon. ​𝙄𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙮 𝙥𝙖𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙡𝙖 𝙣𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙠𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙮 𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞 𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙖 𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙮, 𝙞𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙬-𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙬. Sa kasalukuyan, hinahamon tayo ng EDSA na huwag hayaang maging alaala na lamang ang People Power. Sa panahon ng disimpormasyon, panghihina ng tiwala sa mga institusyon, at patuloy na banta sa karapatang pantao, mahalagang sariwain ang diwa ng pagkakaisa at responsableng pakikilahok.

𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗼𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗮 𝗘𝗗𝗦𝗔 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲. Ito ay nabubuhay sa ating mga desisyon, sa ating pakikilahok, at sa ating pag-alala sa mga aral ng kasaysayan. Sapagkat ang demokrasya ay hindi lamang sistema ng pamahalaan, ito ay kultura ng pakikilahok at malasakit.
Sa bawat henerasyon, tayo ang sumusulat ng susunod na pahina ng People Power. At sa bawat pagkakataong pinipili nating maging 𝐦𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐢, 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦, 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐧, doon muling nabubuhay ang EDSA.

𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡. 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐦!

From January 30-31, 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗺 served as a dynamic platform for students to present policy research and integration outputs that addressed pressing public issues and community needs across the Philippines.

Guided by the theme 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗧: 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, a two-day event was held and attended by 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝟯-𝟮 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, whose policy proposals and research reflected the Philippines' economic realities and its government agencies. Based on data and informed by community context, their analysis bridged theory and practice—translating research insights into comprehensive policy recommendations that are both relevant and practical.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟯 marked the end of MakiAlam—and the start of new beginnings. Instead of a goodbye, it became a gateway to new possibilities, collaborations, and conversations. The conference concluded not as an ending, but as a new beginning in the commitment to purpose-driven research and ideas that push policy forward. 💬📣
