MGEN, Meralco Power Academy partner with DLSU to Prepare Future-Ready Engineers
Last March 2026, MGEN and Meralco Power Academy sealed a partnership with De La Salle University to help bridge the gap between academia and the energy industry.
Through internships, faculty immersion, guest lectures, and research collaborations, students gain real-world exposure and stronger industry readiness.
This partnership supports the development of future engineers who will help shape the Philippine energy sector.

Congratulations to our ECE student quizzer, Nathaniel Dale Crisaldo, for achieving 2nd Runner-Up in the recently concluded Broadcast ng Talino, held on April 8, 2026, at the Technological University of the Philippines–Manila campus.

VANGUARD: Second-year CpE Lasallians Carl Calingcaling, John Carlo Alcantara, and John Carlo Cheng Roa, alongside MS CpE student Cayeton Ramos, took second place at the ArduInnovathon, held on March 21, as part of Arduino Day Philippines 2026.
The team was coached by Engr. Jared Jan Abayan of the Department of Electronics, Computer, and Electrical Engineering.

The Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACCESS) Manila successfully kicked off Innovation Week Term 2 with 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝟯𝗗 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, held last March 18 (Wednesday) at John Gokongwei Jr. Innovation Center, De La Salle University Laguna Campus . The event marked the beginning of a week-long celebration of innovation, creativity, and emerging technologies, running until March 25.
Led by Domie James Jucutan, FabLab Coordinator of Animo Labs, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of 3D modeling and fabrication, transforming ideas into tangible prototypes through hands-on learning.
In collaboration with DLSU Libraries, Animo Labs FabLab, and ACCESS Laguna, this event sets the tone for an exciting Innovation Week ahead.

De La Salle University welcomed the delegates of Meralco Power Academy and Meralco PowerGen Corporation (MGEN) to the Laguna Campus for a tour of its academic and laboratory facilities, providing a closer look at the learning environments that support innovation, research, and hands-on engineering education.
The campus visit highlighted DLSU’s commitment to developing future-ready professionals through modern facilities and experiential learning spaces designed to bridge theory and practice. Through the tour, the guests were given the opportunity to see the different laboratories and academic spaces that help equip students with the technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and practical competencies needed in industry.
More than a showcase of infrastructure, the tour reflected the University’s continuing efforts to strengthen industry-academe collaboration by opening spaces for meaningful engagement, knowledge exchange, and possible future partnerships in training, research, and professional development.
This visit further reinforced the shared vision of De La Salle University, Meralco Power Academy, and Meralco PowerGen Corporation to nurture excellence, innovation, and leadership in engineering and in the energy sector.
