KOLEHIYO NG AGHAM PANLIPUNAN AT PAG-UNLAD, HANDA NA SA PISIKAL NA KLASE!

Mahigit isang taon na mula noong nagsimula ang pandemya, hindi na natin napupuntahan ang sintang paaralan. Ngayon naman ay hindi na natin maitatanggi na ang mga PUPians ay handa nang humarap sa pisikal at ligtas na balik eskwela; dahil ang kasalukuyang moda ng pagkatuto ay hindi mabisa at epektibo upang tugunan ang pangangailangan natin bilang mag-aaral.

Tayong mga mamamayang Pilipino ay nakakaranas ng malubhang suliraning pangkalusugan at hindi nakatatanggap ng sapat na tulong at pagresponde mula sa ating gobyerno. Dumami pa ang mga sularinin mula sa kapalpakang ito tulad ng pagsusulong ng di-makamasang panukala, kasama dito ang mga suliranin sa sektor ng edukasyon tulad ng pagkompromiso sa kalidad ng dapat matamasa nating edukasyon at pagpatuloy sa palpak na moda ng pagkatuto sa ilalim ng distance learning.

Kasama ng ating panawagang matamasa ang libre, aksesable at dekalidad na edukasyong pangkalahatan, dapat din nating isulong ang panawagan na magkaroon ng malinaw at kongkretong plano para sa pisikal at ligtas na balik eskwela kasama ang mga rekisito nito mula sa pamahalaang lokal ng ating pamantasan at sa pambansang pamahalaan. Mas kinakailangang pakinggan ang panawagan ng bawat estudyante, kanilang magulang, kaguruan, at iba pang nakapaloob sa sektor ng akademya sa bansa dahil sa lumalalang krisis sa kalusugan, ekonomiya, at edukasyon.

Kaya naman, ang Rise for Education College of Social Sciences and Development ay tumitindig sa kampanyang na itinutulak natin sa buong bansa at igiit ang karapatan sa edukasyon!

Kaisa ang Rise for Education PUP College of Social Sciences and Development sa panawagang ipamahagi ang nararapat na 10K Student Aid para sa milyong kabataang estudyante sa buong bansa na nagtitiis pa rin sa depektibong sistemang pang-edukasyon sa gitna ng pandemya. Habang ipinagkakait ng rehimeng Duterte ang ligtas na pagbabalik sa eskwela ay nagpapatuloy lamang ang oportunistikong pangagailangan ng mga rekisitong dagda pasakit sa mga magulang na kalakhan ay nawalan ng hanapbuhay sa gitna ng pandemya.

Itinutulak rin ng magastos na online classes ang mga kabataang estudyante na kumayod sa murang paggawa bilang tugon sa ka ilang pagangailangan. Hindi maipagkakaila na higit pa ang nararapat na suportang pinansyal ang dapat na matamasa ng bawat estudyanteng Pilipino dahil sa labis na kapabayaan ng rehimen. Hindi rin sasapat na tanging sa mga rekisito sa edukasyon ang tutugunan kundi higit na ang pagsisiguro ng kaligtasan sa kalusugan sa pamamagitan ng agarang roll-out ng mga bakuna at pondong nakalaan para sa medikal na solusyon sa bansa.

CSSD, makiisa sa panawagan ng sambayanang Pilipino! Hangga't pinababayaan ng rehimen na magngitngit ang bawat Pilipinong estudyante ay patuloy lamang na bababa ang kalidad ng edukasyon sa bansa, mawawala ang esensya ng makabayan at malikhaing porma ng pagkatuto, at magbubukas lamang ng oportunistikong mga polisiya sa ilalim ng "new normal".

ISKOLAR NG BAYAN, IPAGLABAN ANG 10K NA AYUDA PARA SA LAHAT! SUMAMA SA ORIENTATION BUKAS!

Mistulang binabayo ng napakalakas na sigwa ang mamamayang Pilipino sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Duterte. Gaya ng pagbugso ng ulan, labis ang pagbuhos ng sakuna at krisis sa pang-araw-araw na buhay ng mga Pilipino dulot ng kriminal na kapabayaan ng rehimeng tugunan ang pangangailangan at panawagan ng masa. Imbis na kagyat na aksyunan ang mga kagipitan ay militarisasyon, korapsyon, at sariling interes ang inihahain ng rehimen, sampu ng mga kasapakat nito na siyang lalong nagpabutas sa sikmura at nagpabulusok sa antas ng kabuhayan ng mga Pilipino.

Bunsod nito, iniimbitahan namin ang mga kabataang Iskolar ng Bayan na dumalo bukas, ika-25 ng Hulyo, 4 pm, sa gaganaping Student Ayuda Network Orientation at Legislative Consultation na magaganap via Zoom at Facebook Live. Sa huling SONA ni Duterte, sama-sama nating ipanawagan ang agarang pamamahagi ng 10K Student Aid para sa mga kabataang estudyanteng isa sa mga lubos na apektado ng krisis. Ang ayudang ito ay siyang magiging rekisito upang makapagpatuloy ang mga estudyante sa kanilang pag-aaral.

Rise! for Education PUP CSSD recognizes the grievances and the continuous call of the students for the response of the PUP Admin and other concerned offices.

Through the alliance's Open Grievances Form, the students' cases will be handled with full confidentiality and shall be catered with decency and security, favorable for the students' welfare.

Our First College-Wide Consultation have proven the need for urgency in response with secured actions and the mass promotion of campaigns and discussion relevant to the students' situation.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON THE ALLIANCE'S FIRST COLLEGE-WIDE CONSULTATION

Last June 18, 2021, the Rise! for Education PUP CSSD pushed through with its consultation catering 47 individuals from the different Departments and 7 other organizations, formations, councils, publications, parties, and sectors within the College.
The alliance recognized the presence of the representatives from:
- Rise! for Education PUP
- PUP Bukluran sa Sikolohiyang Pilipino
- PUP Sociology Society
- PUP Economic Research Society
- Sandigan ng mga Mag-aaral para sa Sambayanan CSSD
- CSSD Student Council
- PUP Office of the Student Regent

Through the concerns, grievances, and situations of the constituents, the alliance welcomes the students’ campaign for:

• Ligtas na Balik-Eskwela & Maximization of FlexTel Program
• Fight against Red-Tagging & Condemnation of HOOCM
• Ratification of Advisory 21 S. 2021
• Establishment of Help Desks for concerns as: Mental Health, Assistance, and other Technical Support
• Urgency on the distribution of Learning Materials
• Failure on technical processes, such as the Application for Graduation and other SIS processes
• Call for 10K Student Aid
• Support for Road 12 Fire Victims

Rise! for Education PUP CSSD calls for the continuous campaign on the urgency of responses from those concerned and provide probable solutions catering the concerns to provide free, accessible, and quality education for the people. This also implies the calls for the Duterte regime to uphold its obligations for the people especially that the country has suffered enough due to their negligence and lack of urgency on their response. The diverse Iskolar ng Bayan have suffered much extending towards the lack of livelihood of their parents, distress against the health risks, and the surge on dropouts, working students, and errors on the learning materials.

We condemn CHED Chairman J. Prospero “Popoy” De Vera for his disputable regards on the education sector reflecting CHED’s lack of contingency for the students. It is a setback against the supposed progress on education and the systematic honing of professionals and youth leaders. De Vera duplicates Duterte on the lack of empathy for its people and pursuing their interest against the staggard situation of the people.

The pandemic has proven that the regime gambles the lives of the people for the pursuit of their fascist, opportunist, and inhumane dictatorship. Education is and always be the people’s right and amidst the pandemic, the students struggle against the lack of stable internet connection and advanced gadgets, capability of our Mental Health to cope with the situation and pursue the campaigns for the people’s rights.

The alliance pursues the continuous support, communication, and integration of the Iskolar ng Bayan from the College and transcribe towards the University and Communities within the system. We call on every Iskolar ng Bayan to push for Ligtas na Balik-Eskwela, join the petition for 10K Student Aid, and campaign for the full implementation of Academic Ease within the system. # # #

Our strength as a community is rooted from the Iskolar ng Bayan. Our councils, organizations, formations, publications, parties, and sectors are our pillars in upholding our visions for CSSD, for Sintang Paaralan, and for the people.

Rise! for Eduation CSSD aims to provide access for the Iskolar ng Bayan from the College of Social Sciences and Development through the integration of the students from the departments. It is important that as we progress with our campaigns, that the students could grasp its essense and uphold the importance of these.

With the current development in Sintang Paaralan, R4E CSSD will conduct its First College-Wide Consultation on June 18, 2021 as a platform for the students to express their grievances, establish an alliance, and recognize the campaigns and resolutions of the existing councils, organizations, formations, publications, parties, and sectors in CSSD.

We call on, all the concerned to parttake and be involved upon the alliance's goal for us to register our calls and triumph against the current crises. It is evident that with the negligent governance, amplified fascism & injustices, and the threat against democracy by the Duterte regime, the people have suffered to their lowest.

As Iskolar ng Bayan, our participation is valuable and shall be able to translate towards the students' movement and continuous participation to socio-political discussions. Likewise, R4E CSSD emphasizes the importance of the student body as a pillar towards achieving free, accessible, and quality education.
