TATAK - Tao at Utak

ANNOUNCEMENT:

TATAK CLUB wants you to join various contests as we celebrate the United Nations this year with the theme “International Year of Indigenous Languages”. The event will be held on the 22nd day of October, 2019 at PHINMA Saint Jude College Main Building, Gymnasium. The celebration will start at exactly 7:00 am- 3:00 pm.

Here’s the list of activities and mechanics.

✅WORLD OF DANCE
-each strand must have 10-15 representatives
-each strand will present either traditional, modern or mixture of both from the country they’ve picked
-they must have an accompaniment of ay music related to the country they’ve picked
The use of pyrotechnic gadgets, smokes, or combustible materials as props are not allowed

✅BODY PAINTING
-each strand will form a group with 5 participants
-representatives of each strand will plan for an artwork that represents the country assigned to them
-participant A will decide whether to use his/her arm or face as the canvas for the painting and the other members of the group will be the artists
-the participants must bring their own indigenous art materials (e.g. leaves, charcoal, coffee grind, rice husk etc.)
-each participant must supply all of his/her own face painting supplies like brushes, water container, sponges etc. to complete the task
-acrylic paints and other commercial paints including tempera paint, craft paint, textile paint, air brush paint are not allowed

✅BATTLE OF THE BANDS
-each strand can form a band consisting of 3-10 members
-the band must perform a song/musical rendition based on what nation assigned to them

✅UNITED NATIONS’ AMBASSADOR AND AMBASSADRESS
-the representatives of the strands will present the country that they’ve picked
-they will make their outfits for national costume, casual and formal and this will be documented
-there will be a creative shoot before the actual event.
