🚨 Important Announcement!🚨

🇨🇦 Canada has introduced Six key changes that will impact international students, Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWP), and work permits for spouses. These updates are part of the government's strategy to align immigration policies with labor market needs.

🔑 #1 Reduction in Temporary Residents —
By 2026, Canada will reduce temporary residents to 5% of the population, ensuring jobs remain available for Canadians and permanent residents.

🔑 #2 International Student Cap —Starting in 2025, study permits will be capped at 437,000 annually. This 10% reduction from 2024 levels addresses the growing number of students and challenges like housing in high-density areas.

🔑 #3 PGWP Language Requirement— Effective November 1, 2024, PGWP applicants must meet language standards:

📌 CLB 7 for university graduates
📌 CLB 5 for college graduates

🔑 #4 PGWP Eligibility Based on Education—Graduates from bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs will remain eligible for a 3-year PGWP. This change will result in 175,000 fewer permits being issued over three years.

🔑 #5 Spousal Work Permit Restrictions— Spousal work permits will now only apply to partners of students enrolled in doctoral, specific master's, and professional programs. Expect 50,000 fewer permits over three years.

🔑 #6 Work Permits for Spouses of Skilled Workers—Spousal work permits will be limited to highly specialized workers like C-Suite executives, engineers, and healthcare workers, reducing permits by 100,000 over three years.

Covaxin (Bharat Biotech) and BBIBP-CorV (Sinopharm) vaccines are now 'recognised' by the Therapeutic Goods Administration for the purpose of establishing a traveller's vaccination status.

For the purposes of travelling to Australia, individuals who have received two doses of the above vaccines, at least 14 days apart will now be considered fully vaccinated 7 days after their second dose.

Australian International border finally opens today!

A big day for Australia! We’re ready for take-off!

From today, Australian citizens and residents will no longer need an exemption to leave the country. And fully vaccinated Australians and their families, including parents, will also be allowed to enter NSW and Victoria without undertaking quarantine, an important step towards Australia reopening to the world.

Regional travel from Greater Sydney also recommences today, with free travel now allowed right across NSW, Victoria and the ACT.

As vaccination rates continue to rise around the country, I look forward to seeing even more border restrictions easing so families can be reunited and Australians can continue to reclaim their lives.

To ensure Australia reopens safely and stays safely reopen, please get vaccinated.

Vaccinated international students to return to NSW by the end of the year International students fully vaccinated with a TGA-approved jab will be allowed to study in NSW by the end of the year.

If you are a fully vaccinated foreign national, you can now come to Canada for discretionary (non-essential) purposes, such as tourism, as long as you comply with Canada’s entry requirements.

Canada easing border restrictions for fully vaccinated travellers! 🇨🇦

As of September 7, fully vaccinated travellers, from any country, can enter Canada.

Check out this summary of the border measure changes:

✔️ Fully vaccinated travellers who meet all of the mandatory requirements do not have to quarantine upon arrival in Canada.

✔️ Travellers MUST show their receipt to board their flight.

✔️ All travellers must have proof of a negative COVID-19 molecular test taken within 72 hours before arrival, or a positive result taken 14-180 days before arrival. Antigen tests will not be accepted.

✔️ Fully vaccinated travellers do not need testing, unless they have been randomly selected to complete a Day 1 Covid-19 molecular test.

✔️ Travellers entering Canada for exempt essential purposes, such as medical support and trade and transport, will be able to save time by entering their info in ArriveCAN once and using the same receipt for each entry into Canada.

✔️ Unvaccinated children under 12 travelling with fully vaccinated parents and/or guardians no longer have to quarantine, but must avoid group settings during the first 14 days after arrival.

International students to return to NSW under pilot quarantine plan International students will be welcomed back to New South Wales from as early as July under a pilot quarantine plan that NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet says will not come at the expense of the 3,000 Australians returning home each week.
