Practice regularly. Read extensively, write often, and pay attention to the grammar and sentence structure of the material you read. Also, consider taking a grammar class or working with a tutor to learn the rules of grammar and how to apply them.

10 Things I Learned Working from Home as an ESL Teacher β¨
1. Being Independent is Powerful
Working from home teaches you to rely on yourself. You learn to manage your time, make decisions, and solve problems without needing someone to guide you all the time.
2. Set Boundaries to Protect Your Time
Itβs easy for work to spill into personal time, especially when youβre always home. I learned that setting clear work hours helps maintain balance and keeps you from getting burnt out.
3. Adapt to the Unexpected
As a freelancer, things change all the timeβdifferent students, time zones, or tech issues. Being flexible helps me stay calm and handle challenges as they come.
4. Good Communication Builds Trust
When you donβt meet students or clients face-to-face, clear communication is key. I learned that being open and honest helps build strong relationships and keeps everyone on the same page.
5. Stay Motivated
Without a boss, staying motivated is up to you. I found that setting goals, sticking to a routine, and celebrating small wins helps me stay focused and productive.
6. Enjoy the Flexibility
One of the best parts of freelancing is having control over your schedule. Iβve learned to take advantage of that freedom and work during the times that suit me best.
7. Discipline is a Must
Working from home can be full of distractions. Iβve learned that sticking to a schedule and creating a dedicated workspace helps me stay focused on my work.
8. Take Care of Your Health
Sitting in front of a screen all day isnβt great for your health. I make it a point to take breaks, stretch, and exercise regularly to keep both my body and mind in good shape.
9. Itβs Okay to Ask for Help
You donβt have to do everything on your own. Iβve learned that asking for helpβwhether itβs tech support, advice, or just sharing ideasβmakes things easier and helps me improve.
10. Celebrate Your Wins
As a freelancer, no oneβs there to pat you on the back. Iβve learned to celebrate my own successes, big or small, to stay motivated and remind myself of my progress.
