This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the moms, mother figures, at chosen families na naging safe space ng maraming LGBTQIA+ individuals. Sa bawat yakap, advice, at unconditional love, pinapaalala nila na hindi kailangang baguhin ang sarili para maging deserving mahalin. 🫂

Sa mga nanay na supportive, sa mga drag mothers na nagbibigay lakas ng loob, at sa mga taong naging tahanan natin during our softest and hardest moments—𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 talaga. 👑

At para sa mga patuloy na natututong tumanggap at umunawa: thank you for choosing love over judgment. Dahil sa isang mundong minsang mapanakit, ang pagmamahal na tunay ay isang uri ng protesta—and also, a slay. 🌈

| Unpaid Care Work: Resource Guide

This resource guide is based on discussions and thinking from the unpaid care work workshop held in Nairobi, Kenya from 21-24 March 2011. The workshop brought together ActionAid staff and partners from Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda and India. It was a mix of programme and policy staff including representatives from the International Women’s Rights, Education, HIV & AIDS, Governance and Food Rights teams.

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable and treatable forms of cancer when detected early, yet thousands of women lose their lives to it each year. Most cases are caused by the 𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙋𝙖𝙥𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙧𝙪𝙨 (𝙃𝙋𝙑), a common infection that can be prevented through vaccination.

This month, we raise awareness on the importance of regular screening, such as Pap smears, and taking proactive steps toward protection. Early detection can make all the difference.

𝙇𝙚𝙩 𝙪𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙚, 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙯𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝.
