Today, we remember Benigno โNinoyโ Aquino Jr., a Filipino who stood firm in his love for country, even when doing so meant putting his own life at risk. He believed that freedom, democracy, and the dignity of every Filipino were worth fighting for.
His words remain powerful, especially in the face of everything our country is witnessing today. In times when truth is challenged, voices are silenced, and injustice continues to affect the Filipino people, may we remember that silence is never the only choice.
May we have the courage to stand for what is right, speak when something is wrong, and refuse to remain silent in the face of injustice. We may not all have the same platform or the same way of fighting for our country, but we can all choose to care, to speak the truth, and to stand with those whose voices deserve to be heard.
Let us never forget that the freedom we have today was shaped by those who dared to stand up for it.
