ENOUGH DOXYCYCLINE SUPPLY — UST HOSPITAL

NEWS UPDATE: At 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, the UST Hospital says it has sufficient stocks of doxycycline and is coordinating with the University for distribution to the Thomasian community.

The hospital urges those exposed to floodwaters to undergo medical evaluation before taking any medication.

We are saddened to learn of the untimely passing of one of our esteemed professors, Professor Valentin C. Dones III, PhD, an academic staff and researcher of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences.

A respected academic and clinician, he has mentored generations of would-be allied health professionals and researchers. In 2024, he was hailed as the Outstanding Professional of the Year in Physical Therapy by the Professional Regulation Commission. Committed to making patients' lives more comfortable, he worked with the TOMASInno Center to establish the startup PainFree, which specializes in musculoskeletal pain management.

The community expresses solidarity with his bereaved loved ones in this time of profound grief.

Eternal rest grant unto Dr. Dones, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
