🗓️ On December 16, 2025, an outreach program was held at the canteen of St. Paul University Manila. This community outreach aimed to 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚 and 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 with the people during this Christmas season.

The program began with a prayer, followed by a short Christmas reflection delivered by Dr. Christian Prado. His message focused on 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲, 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, and 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀—𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁.

This was followed by a 𝐤𝐮𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐧 with the SPC Sisters and the 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 as a gesture of care and generosity for the Christmas season. 💌💫

The word “unity” sounds beautiful—who wouldn’t want a peaceful, united nation? 
But in governance, unity can become dangerous when it is used to silence problems instead of solving them.

Humanism teaches us that every person has dignity and moral values. 
If unity demands people to accept injustice, inequality, or abuse of power—then that isn’t unity. That’s forced obedience. A just society values 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝘀 over image, 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 over convenience, 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 over politics.

💧Every year in the Philippines, we experience all sorts of 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 such as Typhoons, Earthquakes, and more. According to the WRI, we rank 1 in disaster risk. This has prompted Filipinos to be 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 as the government has no proper 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 or 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀 for such disasters.

Every November, we celebrate National Rice Awareness Month — a time to honor not only the grain that fills our plates but also the hardworking farmers who grow it. In the Philippines, rice is more than just food. It is the heart of our daily life, the symbol of our culture, and the food that ties our families together.

This month, let us take action by 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲. In the past months, the Philippines has experienced a series of earthquakes–𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐬. Beyond the damage to buildings and roads lies the invisible impact on people—their fears, emotions, and struggles to start again. This month of October, we raise awareness about breast cancer. How it affects women is not just about their physical body, but also in the psychosocial aspects in which women experience stigma. Breaking this stigma is not merely a matter of empathy—it is a step towards a society where those affected by breast cancer feel empowered to seek help, share their experiences, heal and live their lives fully. Supporting individuals, especially women who are at a common risk of the disease, offers a beacon of light and hope.

When funds are stolen, lives are lost.

Demography and corruption— the misuse of government funds affects not just the economy, but also the people themselves.

From a demographic perspective, corruption weakens a nation’s growth. When money meant for hospitals, schools, and social programs disappears, communities suffer. Families lose access to proper healthcare, education becomes limited, and poverty continues to rise. This leads to higher sickness rates, overcrowded communities, and slower population progress.

Corruption is not only a political issue, it’s also a an issue that correlates to the population. It shapes how people live, move, and survive. When the system fails to protect public welfare, the country’s development also slows down. Demography helps us understand this deeper: every act of corruption doesn’t just waste resources, it robs the nation of its future.
