On 9 November 2025, the MusikaPilipinas research team presented several studies in a semi-plenary session at the 20th International Convention of the East Asian Economic Association (EAEA) titled “Amplifying Asia’s Music Economies: Perspectives from the Philippines and Southeast Asia”, held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
The session, co-organized by the Ateneo de Manila University Department of Economics, aimed to deepen understanding of the economics of the Philippine music industry, featuring key findings from the MusikaPilipinas research initiative.

The panel’s discussants were Atty. Emerson G. Cuyo, Director IV of the Bureau of Copyright and Related Rights, Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), and Mr. Dhanesh Jagwani, Head of Music Licensing at the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry – Southeast Asia (IFPI SEA). Their short presentations shed light on the landscape of the Philippine music industry, trends in music listenership in the country and the region of Southeast Asia, and problems faced in the recording and copyright sectors of the industry.
