The qualifying rounds were a testament to the preparation and brilliance of the student-debaters. Each matchup brought a unique energy to the floor:

The debate competition opened with a high-stakes encounter between the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐝 𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚 (𝐔𝐝𝐌) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐨𝐝 𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚 (𝐏𝐋𝐌). They grappled with the complexities of social welfare, arguing whether the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) has truly evolved from a temporary subsidy into a sustainable bridge out of poverty.

In a nuanced exchange, both sides dissected the "Grade Transmutation Matrix," debating whether its removal is the key to ending the culture of mass promotion and restoring academic integrity in the Philippine education system.
