Learning Beyond the Classroom: Navigating Educational Technology

The Seminar for Professional Education class recently held the fourth installment of its Lecture Series, featuring Mr. Rolando Rosal, faculty member of Paco Catholic School, who led an insightful discussion on Educational Technology and the ways technology can be meaningfully integrated into the classroom.

The session revisited the what’s and how’s of educational technology, offering students a valuable refresher on navigating the modern classroom with computers and other digital tools. More than simply using technology, the discussion highlighted the importance of knowing when, why, and how technology can support teaching and learning.

Adding a practical dimension to the lecture, Mr. Rosal also shared personal experiences and insights from his own journey, including his preparation and experience in taking the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). His stories gave students a glimpse into the realities and challenges that await them as future educators.

It was a meaningful and insightful session that reminded our students that being an effective teacher means continuing to learn, adapt, and embrace the tools that can help learners thrive.

Another lecture, another step toward becoming educators who are ready for the classroom and the future.

A Calling to Teach, A Mission to Serve

Last Friday, the College Department gathered at the Our Lady of Candelaria Chapel for the Pinning Ceremony and Commissioning of our Fourth Year Pre-Service Teachers, marking a meaningful milestone in their journey toward the teaching profession.

The Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Ramon Mariano of the Diocese of Balanga, who, in his homily, reminded our future religious educators of the importance of bringing Christ into their future workplaces and classrooms. Ipse Caritas, Christ Himself is Love, calls them not only to teach, but to become witnesses of that love in the lives of the learners entrusted to them.

He also encouraged them to cultivate a heart that listens, a heart that remains faithful, and a heart that is veracious, one that speaks and lives by the truth.

The celebration was intimate and heartfelt, shared with our College students, professors, administrators, and friends. More than a ceremony, it was a moment of gratitude, prayer, and commissioning as our fourth year students take another step toward their vocation to educate and inspire.

May they carry with them the knowledge they have gained, the values they have formed, and above all, Christ who goes with them wherever their mission may lead.

Congratulations, our future educators! May you teach with wisdom, serve with humility, and lead with a heart rooted in Christ.

Our journey from the classroom to the real world of teaching has officially begun.

Last August 4, the AB Religious Studies students taking Field Study 1 were formally endorsed to the Paco Catholic School Basic Education Department as we begin our observation phase for this semester.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Sonia Timog, IBED Principal, and Sir Lee Pesigan, Coordinator for Values Education and Christian Living Education, for warmly welcoming and orienting us as we prepare for this meaningful learning experience.

Throughout the semester, we will be observing classroom management, discipline strategies, and effective teaching practices that shape positive learning environments. These firsthand experiences will help us bridge theory and practice as we continue our formation to become competent, compassionate, and faith-filled educators.

Every great teacher begins as a learner. May this journey inspire us to teach not only with knowledge, but also with wisdom, patience, and love.

The learning continues with the third installment of our SEMPRO Lecture Series!

Our sincere gratitude to Ms. Maricon S. Gaor for sharing her knowledge and experiences on the Principles of Teaching. Through her lecture, our students gained a deeper understanding of laying a strong foundation for teaching, exploring the elements, laws, and strategies of effective learning, and aligning instructional objectives with meaningful classroom practices.

Beyond the theories and concepts, Ms. Icon also shared valuable insights from her own experience in taking the licensure examinations, inspiring our students to prepare with confidence, purpose, and dedication.

Thank you for an enriching and insightful session that continues to equip our future educators with the knowledge and inspiration to become effective and compassionate teachers.

As part of the CEAP NCR Regional Meeting held at the Buenaventura G. Paredes, O.P. Building of the University of Santo Tomas, student representatives from Paco Catholic School - College Department joined Catholic educators and institutions from across the region in two days of prayerful celebration through the Holy Mass.

The Eucharistic celebrations were presided over by Most Rev. Dennis C. Villarojo, D.D., Bishop of Malolos, on the first day, and Most Rev. Ruperto C. Santos, D.D., Bishop of Antipolo, on the second day.

In his homily, Bishop Santos reminded the faithful that Catholic schools are called to be communities of welcome, channels of wisdom rooted in clarity, conscience, and courage, and carriers of hope in a world longing for Christ’s light.

As members of the RCAMES family, we are invited to reflect on the Lord’s question: “Do you understand all these things?” True understanding is not found merely in knowing the right words, but in putting faith into action. The mission of Catholic education is fulfilled when what we learn is reflected in how we serve, lead, and love others.

May we continue to grow as communities that welcome, enlighten, and inspire, carrying the hope of Christ wherever we are called to be.
