GOOD EVENING!

I am Sophia Monique Ramirez, an ABELS student from PUP - Manila, and I am here to seek help for my late mother.

Last June 17, 9:30 am, my mom suffered a seizure, she was rushed to FEU-NRMF Emergency Room and was declared comatose. Stroke was the first diagnosis given by the doctor, and during noon that day, a kidney problem was traced.

June 17, night came, the CT Scan results were released, there was no internal bleeding but a consolidation pneumonia was discovered. With that, my mom became a suspected COVID-19 patient so she had to undergo from swab testing. Her Kreatinine was also high, so the doctor suggested that dialysis should be done urgently, so we pushed through with it.

Then, 9PM of June 17, the bill reached 193K pesos, and the dialysis fees are not yet included.

June 18 came, before the dialysis session itself, progress had been seen with my mom because of few movements. After the dialysis, we waited for the results until night, but then, the doctor suddenly called, saying that it has been 30 minutes when they started reviving my mom, she was declared as brain dead. They told me that, I need to choose, whether to continue fighting or to let go of her. I chose to let go to avoid my mom's further sufferings.

Then, the estimated total bill as of June 18 is 323, 716 pesos.

Yesterday, June 19, the final bill was 393, 500.54 pesos, the deductions from PhilHealth and such are yet to be done. Until now, there isn't any final diagnosis or medical abstract provided by the doctor, that would tell us what really happened or what caused my mom's death.

As of now, June 20, the results for swab testing is not yet released, but I am sincerely asking you all to include us in your prayers. That somehow, the swab test result would be negative for the process of papers to claim her body, be smooth sailing. I'm also genuinely asking for a financial help for the hospital bills that is yet to be paid.

My mom had a good fight after all. Thank you and please pray for my family and for her soul to be at peace. God Bless!
