PUP Graduate School Strengthens International Partnership with the University of Salamanca, Spain
๐ฃ๐ฑ๐ฎ ๐๐ธ๐ต๐๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฑ๐ท๐ฒ๐ฌ ๐ค๐ท๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ ๐ธ๐ฏ ๐ฝ๐ฑ๐ฎ ๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ต๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ท๐ฎ๐ผ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ญ๐พ๐ช๐ฝ๐ฎ ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฑ๐ธ๐ธ๐ต (๐๐ค๐ ๐๐ข)formally strengthened its global engagement through the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the ๐ค๐ท๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ ๐ธ๐ฏ ๐ข๐ช๐ต๐ช๐ถ๐ช๐ท๐ฌ๐ช (๐ค๐ข๐๐), ๐ข๐น๐ช๐ฒ๐ท, on 22 July 2026. The virtual ceremony marked the beginning of a strategic academic partnership that seeks to promote faculty and student exchange, collaborative research, extension and community engagement, joint academic initiatives, academic mobility, and scholarly publications. As one of the partnership's initial collaborative undertakings, both institutions will launch an international extension program for the Master of Science in Electronics Engineering (MS Electronics Engineering), providing faculty members and graduate students with opportunities for academic exchange, professional development, and collaborative learning. The partnership reflects both universities' shared commitment to expanding international cooperation and enriching higher education through the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best practices.
The program featured an opening prayer by Dr. Geraldine F. Santos, welcoming remarks from Dr. Elmer G. De Jose, Dean of the PUP Graduate School, and the presentation of the MOU by Dr. Jo Ann V. Magsumbol, Chairperson of the Master of Science in Electronics Engineering program. The formal signing of the MOU and MOA was followed by messages of commitment from Dr. Raรบl Sรกnchez Prieto, Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation of the University of Salamanca, and Dr. Emanuel C. De Guzman, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who conveyed the President's message of support and reaffirmed the University's commitment to strengthening international academic partnerships that resonate excellence in faculty exchange, instruction, research, and extension.
The ceremony concluded with the closing remarks of Dr. Marion A. Cresencio, Associate Dean of the PUP Graduate School, emphasizing that the partnership represents another milestone in the University's continuing internationalization efforts. Beyond the ceremonial signing, the agreement establishes a framework for sustained collaboration through faculty and student mobility, joint research projects, extension initiatives, curriculum enhancement, academic exchanges, and international scholarly engagement. The launch of the MS Electronics Engineering international extension program as the first collaborative initiative amplifies both institutions' commitment to translating partnership agreements into meaningful academic programs that benefit their faculty, students, and partner communities.
