The Laboratory Animal Care and Use for Research Training (2026), hosted by the UP Manila Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), is a one-day seminar-training designed for students and professionals engaged in or planning to conduct biomedical research and animal studies across academic, government, and private institutions. It is also ideal for institutions planning to establish their own IACUC. The training will be held at the University of the Philippines Manila on June 26, 2026 (Friday), from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The registration fee is PHP 6,500 per participant, inclusive of training materials, snacks, and lunch. Slots are limited, and registration will remain open until June 17, 2026.

𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗔𝗖𝗨𝗖 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) 🐁

The UP Manila IACUC is offering a free, asynchronous, self-paced online Basic IACUC Training, exclusively for the UPM-PGH community. The training will run from March 23, 2026, to April 10, 2026.

This training is highly recommended for UP Manila faculty, students, and staff who are planning or currently engaged in biomedical research. Completion of this course is mandatory for all personnel listed on an IACUC protocol.

The course covers essential topics, including animal welfare principles, legal bases for animal research, role and functions of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and fundamentals of animal use in research

Participants who complete the modules and pass the assessment with a minimum score of 70% within the designated period will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Free Basic IACUC Online Training (February 3 to February 17, 2025)

The UP Manila's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee has organized a Free Basic IACUC Training. This is an asynchronous and self-paced online course that will be open from February 3 to February 17, 2025. This is available for the UPM-PGH Community only. The UP Manila faculty, students, and staff who plan or are practicing biomedical research are encouraged to join. This is required for all personnel on an IACUC protocol.

This basic online course covers topics on animal welfare, legal bases, the institutional animal care and use committee, and the fundamentals of animal use in research. A certificate of completion will be awarded to the participants who complete the online module and pass 70% of the assessment within the given timeframe.
