"We have forgotten that we ourselves are dust of the earth."
The Earth is suffering because humans have irresponsibly abused its resources and treated it as something to dominate and exploit. This harm reflects the brokenness within humanity and is visible in environmental destruction affecting land, water, air, and all life. It reminds us that we are deeply connected to the Earth, we depend on it for life, yet we have neglected and mistreated it like one of the most vulnerable among us.

“Laudato Si’, mi’ Signore” – “Praise be to you, my Lord.”
With these timeless words, Saint Francis of Assisi invites us into a sacred relationship with creation. He reminds us that Earth is not merely a resource, but a cherished companion, a sister who walks beside us, and a mother whose embrace nourishes and sustains.
“Praise be to you, my Lord,” he continues, “through our Sister, Mother Earth, who sustains and governs us, and who brings forth fruits, flowers, and herbs in radiant abundance.”
This canticle calls us to reverence, gratitude, and care for the beauty that surrounds us and the life that connects us all.

BREAKING: The amount of heat trapped by the Earth reached record levels in 2025, with the consequences of such warming feared to last for thousands of years, the UN warned Monday.
"The global climate is in a state of emergency. Planet Earth is being pushed beyond its limits. Every key climate indicator is flashing red," United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said as the UN's World Meteorological Organization published its annual climate overview. | via Agence France-Presse
