First to Lead, First to Create Impact: Benilde SMIT Celebrates the Pioneering Batch of Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT) celebrated a historic milestone through the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Primus Milestones, held on May 8 at Café Romançon, Hotel Benilde. The event honored the pioneering batch of the Bachelor of Science in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship (BS-SIE) program, one of the first of its kind in the country. More than a recognition ceremony, it marked the beginning of a legacy shaped by students brave enough to choose a new, purpose-driven academic path.
The BS-SIE program prepares students to become change-makers who use innovation, entrepreneurship, and responsible leadership to address real social and environmental challenges. Anchored in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the program goes beyond traditional business education by teaching students to create sustainable, ethical, and community-focused solutions where profit and purpose can work together.
Through research-driven learning, real-world projects, simulations, stakeholder engagement, and guidance from industry practitioners, the pioneering batch was trained to think critically, lead responsibly, and design solutions that answer two important questions: Who benefits? and What problem are we solving? They are not just graduates. They are builders of solutions, community-oriented entrepreneurs, and future leaders ready to create meaningful impact.
Benilde is not just producing graduates. It is producing leaders who innovate for society and humanity.
For those who want to be part of a future-ready, globally connected, and industry-driven learning environment, admissions for AY 2025–2026 are ongoing through the DLS-CSB Admissions Center

🎉 Congratulations to our distinguished alumni and faculty on this remarkable academic achievement! 🎉
The De La Salle College of Saint Benilde community proudly congratulates Ms. Jamie Jane W. Cheng, together with Mr. Zosimo O. Membrebe, Jr. and Ms. Pamela Acevedo Go, for the publication of their research entitled:
📘 “The Pull of Prestige: Investigating the Appeal of UK Higher Education for Chinese Students”
Published in the Review of Integrative Business and Economics Research
This milestone is more than just a publication, but a powerful reminder that learning does not end after earning a degree. True Lasallian-Benildean excellence continues through lifelong curiosity, research, collaboration, and the courage to contribute meaningful knowledge to the global academic and business community.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our alumna, Ms. Jamie Jane Cheng, for reaching this inspiring milestone. Your achievement reflects the passion, discipline, and commitment to continuous growth that we hope every student and graduate will carry throughout their professional journey. 💚
Your success also highlights the value of advanced studies and international perspectives in today’s rapidly evolving business landscape. For students aspiring to expand their expertise, strengthen their leadership capabilities, and create impact beyond borders, pursuing a Master in International Business is more than an academic investment — it is a pathway toward becoming globally competitive and purpose-driven professionals.
May this accomplishment inspire more Benildeans and future graduate students to embrace lifelong learning, pursue research with purpose, and never stop growing.
Once again, congratulations on this outstanding achievement! Your Benilde family celebrates with you. 🌟
