Matakot na ang mga nasa kapangyarihan dahil handa na ang aming matalas na panulat at palabang diwa para sa hustisya at pananagutan.

LOOK | The Room-to-Room Consultation held this April, titled "The Amazing Community: Connecting with COCians, Conquering the Concerns," featured an outpouring of voices and ideas.

On April 25, every COCian was given the opportunity to be heard, to connect, and to take part in meaningful and timely conversations. Discussions covered issues inside and outside the College, including the heat index, the potential for full face-to-face classes, the status of the Mass Communication Building, experiences of fascism among students and youth leaders, threats to press freedom, and the upcoming Labor Day.

The consultation was attended by BAJ 1-1D, BABR 2-1D, and BAJ 1-2N, and included educational discussions on local issues within the COC and the University.

Concerns raised by each block were noted and acknowledged. Urgent matters were addressed immediately, while other concerns were documented for further action and administrative follow-up.

TINGNAN | Nagsagawa ng indignation rally at candle lighting protest ang komunidad ng PUP noong April 24 upang kundenahin ang naganap na pamamasista sa Toboso, Negros Occidental. Noong April 19, pinaslang ng 79th Infantry Battalion ang 19 na indibidwal, kabilang ang mga residenteng naninirahan sa lugar.

Ang bawat Iskolar ng Bayan ay may kapasidad na suriin ang lipunan labas pa sa apat na sulok ng ating mga pamantasan. Nararapat lamang na lumubog at makipamuhay sa masa upang tunay na maunawaan ang krisis sa kanayunan, kung saan patuloy na pinagsasamantalahan ang mga magsasaka. Pagpupugay ang alay ng komunidad sa katapangan nina Alyssa Alano, RJ Ledesma, Maureen Santuyo, at Errol Wendel na piniling magsilbi sa gitna ng pahirap na rehimeng Marcos-Duterte.

Panghuli, bilang komunidad ng COC, ang pagkamatay ni RJ Ledesma, isang community journalist, ay patunay na mailap pa rin ang kalayaan sa pamamahayag sa ilalim ng mga "berdugong" pwersa ng estado. Hamon ito sa bawat Kabataang Alagad ng Midya: gamitin ang panulat at mikropono bilang sandata sa pananaliksik at pag-uulat. Patuloy tayong maninindigan hanggang sa makamit ng mga magsasaka, estudyante, at buong masang inaapi ang katarungan at buhay na nararapat sa kanila.

Mga Iskolar ng Bayan, singilin ang estadong pabaya, pasista, at pahirap sa sambayanan!

Ilang beses nang pinatunayan ng estadong ito na hindi ang interes ng taumbayan ang prayoridad nito. Wala itong ibang ginawa kundi mag-anak ng krisis sa bansa o hindi kaya ay mas lalo pang palalain ang mga problemang matagal nang nararanasan ng mamamayan!

Krisis ang kinakain ng mga Pilipino sa araw-araw ng kanilang buhay! Sa patuloy na paglobo ng presyo ng gasolina at mga bilihin, bunsod ng agresyon ng US-Israel sa Iran, patuloy ring nalulugmok sa hirap ang mga Pilipinong barya-barya lang ang sinasahod. Hirap na nga ang mga Pilipino sa epekto ng gyera sa Pilipinas, mukhang nais pa ni Marcos Jr. na dalhin ang gyerang ito sa ating bansa sa pamamagitan ng pagpayag na makapasok dito ang libo-libong US military troops bilang parte ng Balikatan Exercises—bagay na maaaring mag-udyok sa mga kalaban ng US na magsimula rin ng gyera sa ating bansa.

Sa kabilang banda, habang lubog sa hirap ang sambayanang Pilipino, patuloy namang nagpapakasarap sa kapangyarihan ang mga naghaharing-uri, sa pangunguna ni Marcos Jr. at Sara Duterte. Habang araw-araw na kailangang magtiis ng mga ordinaryong mamamayan, nagpapakasasa pa rin sa pera ng taumbayan ang mga kurakot sa gobyerno na hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin nananagot.

Imbis na nailalaan sa mga batayang serbisyong panlipunan ang pera ng taumbayan, napupunta ito sa sariling bulsa ng mga politiko at makakapangyarihan. Bukod dito, pinopondohan din ng mapanupil na rehimen ang pamamasismo sa bansa. Patuloy ang pagpondo sa NTF-ELCAC na kilala sa panre-redtag sa mga mamamayang lumalaban. Patuloy ring ang paglaki ng pondo para sa AFP-PNP na kilala sa pagiging numero unong yumuyurak sa karapatang pantao ng sambayanan. Manipestasyon nito ang masaker na ginawa ng 79th Infantry Battalion sa 19 na indibidwal sa Negros Occidental. Kabilang dito ang lider-estudyante ng University of the Philippines na si Alyssa Alano, ang cultural worker at peasant organizer na si Errol Wendel, ang mamamahayag at youth leader na si RJ Ledesma, at peasant organizer at UP teacher Maureen Santuyo.

Malinaw mula rito na walang ibang mukha ang estadong ito kundi pagpapabaya, pamamasismo, at pagpapahirap sa sambayanan. Imbis na tugunan ang pangangailangan ng taumbayan sa mga batayang karapatan nito—ang mga kabataang estudyante sa maayos, aksisable, at libreng edukasyon, ang mga manggagawa sa maayos at nakabubuhay na sahod, ang mga magsasaka sa tunay na reporma sa lupa, at iba pang pangangailangan ng mamamayan upang mabuhay nang maayos—nananatiling gumagana ang gobyerno, hindi para sa kapakanan ng mga Pilipino kundi para sa ganansya ng mga naghaharing-uri na naririto.

Kaya naman, mga Iskolar ng Bayan, maniningil tayo! Sa panahon kung kailan nagbibingi-bingihan ang estado, higit na dapat tayong mag-ingay. Ngayon ang panahon upang higit na padagundungin ang lansangan, bitbit ang ating galit at paniningil. Sa panahon kung saan sinusupil ng pasistang estadong ito ang boses ng mga mamamayang lumalaban at nakikibaka, higit dapat tayong magpalakas at magpalawak!
