On July 31, 2026, the Chairperson of the Department of Information Technology and Information Systems (IT&IS) visited TechFactors, Inc., one of the department’s valued industry partners, to express appreciation for hosting the Faculty Immersion of Ms. Maria Jasmin I. Villanueva and Ms. Gloria Dela Cruz during the Midyear Term, AY 2025–2026.

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss future collaborations, including student On-the-Job Training (OJT) placements and industry speakerships for faculty and student development activities. This initiative further strengthens the partnership between the department and TechFactors, Inc. in promoting industry-relevant learning and professional growth.

Two faculty members from the Department of Information Technology and Information Systems (IT&IS), Mr. Archie G. Santiago and Ms. Maricel G. Barrameda, attended the “Bringing Real-World Analytics into the Classroom” seminar conducted by SAS Institute (Philippines) on July 29, 2026, at FEU Institute of Technology. They were joined by two faculty members from the Computer Science Department, with both departments representing the College of Computing and Information Technology (CCIT).

The seminar focused on integrating real-world analytics into higher education through industry-based tools, practical applications, and innovative teaching strategies. It provided participants with valuable insights into current trends in analytics education and opportunities to strengthen industry-academe collaboration in preparing students with data-driven competencies.
