To make a paper helicopter:
1. Start with a rectangular piece of paper. If you have a standard letter-sized paper, you can use that.
2. Fold the paper in half lengthwise, bringing the shorter edges together. Make sure the edges align perfectly, and then unfold the paper.
3. Fold the top two corners of the paper inward, meeting at the center crease. This forms a triangle shape at the top of the paper.
5. Fold the newly formed triangle down along the center crease, so that the pointed tip is now at the bottom edge of the paper.
6. Fold the bottom edges of the paper upward, aligning them with the center crease. This creates a smaller triangle shape at the bottom.
7. Fold the entire paper in half along the center crease, bringing the top edge down to meet the bottom edge. The triangular flap you created earlier should be on the outside of the fold.
8. Fold down the top edges of the paper, angling them slightly inward. This forms the wings of the paper airplane.
9. Flip the paper airplane over and repeat the same folding process with the other side. Fold the top edges down at an angle to create the second set of wings.
10. Gently open up the wings and adjust them as needed to give your paper airplane the desired shape.

How to make a paper frog folding game:
1. Start with a square piece of paper. If you don't have a square, you can fold a regular rectangular piece of paper diagonally and trim off the excess to create a square.
2. Fold the square in half diagonally to form a triangle. Make sure the corners match up perfectly.
3. Unfold the triangle and fold it in half again, but this time in the other direction. You should now have a smaller triangle.
4. Take one corner of the triangle and fold it towards the opposite side, creating a smaller triangle shape. Repeat this step with the other corner.
5. Flip the triangle over and fold the two outer corners towards the center, creating a diamond shape.
6. Fold the bottom tip of the diamond upwards, about one-third of the way. This will be the frog's head.
7. Flip the paper over again and fold the two sides towards the center, aligning them with the bottom edge. This creates the frog's body.
8. Fold the bottom of the frog's body upwards, about one-third of the way. This will be the frog's legs.
9. Flip the paper over one more time and fold the bottom tip of the legs upwards, creating the frog's feet.
10. Gently open up the folds of the frog's body to give it a three-dimensional shape. You can also draw eyes and a mouth on the frog's head to make it more realistic.

5 CONCENTRATION-ENHANCING GAMES FOR CHILDREN DURING SUMMER
For young children, playing and learning go hand in hand. Therefore, this section will delve into recommended activities and games to help children strengthen their concentration skills.
1. Puzzle games
Puzzle games are among the best activities to develop a child's thinking skills, language abilities, and concentration. This game also enhances the child's hand-eye coordination and flexibility, as it requires the coordination of these two parts. Colorful puzzle pieces create excitement for children and serve as excellent teaching tools for parents.
2. Imaginary shape games
Children can play imaginary shape games alone or with their friends or parents. The child's task is to close their eyes, concentrate, imagine a shape, and then draw the result on paper. The accuracy of the drawn shape indicates the child's level of concentration while playing this game.
3. Picture observation game
The picture observation game not only helps improve a child's concentration but also stimulates their imagination, enhances memory, and strengthens their observation skills.
Finger games
4. As the name suggests, finger games are performed using the child's ten fingers. Parents can have the child spread their hand and then fold each finger. After folding each finger, parents can have the child spread them out again. This game requires the child to focus and fold or spread out each finger individually. If they rush, the child may accidentally spread or clench their whole hand.
5. Maze games
By navigating through a maze, children can develop their thinking skills and quick observation abilities. This game also enhances their concentration since the path they must find in the maze can be long, requiring the child to remain focused throughout the process.

4 THINGS PARENTS OF TEENAGE GIRLS NEED TO KNOW

As the parent of a teenage girl, you may wonder what is truly going on in your daughter's mind, not to mention her life. This is a crucial time of development when teenage girls are starting to spread their wings and look towards the future.

In her new book, "L Platers," author Madonna King consulted the opinions of 1,000 girls aged 16-18, along with parents, educators, and healthcare professionals, about what teenage girls worry about and need the most.

Here are some insights the author wants to share with you - parents of teenage girls:

1. Be ready to listen.
There is so much we can do as parents to support teenage girls as they grow into young women. At age 14, teenage girls often feel that their parents, especially their mothers, seemingly cannot understand their lives. Our role, as parents and educators, is to listen. Listen. Listen. Listen.

2. Let them fail.
This will improve their confidence, independence, and even encourage their leadership skills. Parents want their children to win, succeed, and shine, which is understandable. However, every failure is a lesson that helps them succeed.

3. Mental health is a significant challenge.
This includes eating disorders, self-harm, excessive worry, school refusal, and depression. All of these issues are on the rise among teenage girls, with some psychologists reporting waiting lists lasting over 12 months. In some cases, girls explain that they can't seek help because their parents "don't believe in that."

Therefore, what parents need to do here is to have more conversations with their daughters, put themselves in their shoes to understand, and foster trust and open communication so that their daughters feel loved and supported.

4. Social media is still an issue.
We need to acknowledge that, after the Covid-19 pandemic, both we and our children have significantly increased our time spent on social media. Consequently, girls in this age group are more prone to getting caught up in social media and have a higher risk of exposure to unhealthy information. What parents need to do here is to accompany their daughters, teach them how to filter information by engaging in conversations and sharing the issues they might encounter instead of prohibiting and triggering their rebellious thinking.
