The formative level of a child is between 0 to 6 years old. These are ages when the child is most absorbent and receptive to his environment. The child establishes in himself the moral and social standards of society through observation from his parent’s or caregivers’
own interpretation and implementation of these standards. The pleasant or traumatic experiences he encounters at this level will become an integral part of his personality. Habits are formed and values are developed through the conscious or unconscious punishment and reward system employed by the adults that care for the child. These are the reasons why the formative years are important. These are the reasons why Freud wrote that “ the father of the adult is the child.” These are the reasons why the experiences we provide our little LEARNERS TODAY have such impact on their TOMORROW. This is the meaning of foundation. And this is primarily how we define our educational objectives at TODAY FOR TOMORROW’S LEARNERS. OUR LOGO
The school logo consists of a big tree at the left. Immediately at the right is a big yellow sun where two children reading can be found. The school’s primary concern is to coordinate with the parents in providing the children a stable and solid foundation in the aspect of value system while they are in their formative years. Since one’s values is the heart of his being and “the child is the father of the adult,” the symbol of the tree was chosen to concretize the school’s name and provide the very meaning of foundation. The children reading in the logo signify the kind of students who are self-starters, industrious and happy learners, whom the school endeavors to develop. These children have been situated in the sun to remind them and the teachers that though they are little learners today, they will be the learners and leaders of tomorrow. OUR HISTORY
Mrs. Criselda D. Reyes, the owner-head teacher of the school, is a graduate of Psychology from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. She was an Industrial Psychologist for various companies assigned in the Personnel Department from 1987 to 1992. Aware of the value of the formative years in a child’s life, Mrs. Reyes became a full-time mother to her son in 1993. Guided by Child Psychology and the principles of child development, she began stimulating her son mentally with very impressive results. Inspired by her son’s progress, she decided to tutor children around the neighborhood who were formally enrolled in pre-schools. Gaining reputation, this tutorial service soon expanded and catered to graders from Ateneo, Assumption, Colegio San Agustin, Marymount, Immaculate Heart of Mary. Mrs. Reyes though, soon realized that her first love is teaching pre-schoolers. Although it would be more difficult because of all the adjustment, whining and short attention span, she wanted to be one of the good influences in shaping the children’s behavior. And having realized how delicate this endeavor is, Mrs. Reyes formally enrolled in the Pre-School Specialization Program of the Philippine Normal University in 1996. Meanwhile, to pacify Mrs. Reyes uncontrollable urge to teach pre-schoolers, she organized an arts and crafts class at her home in the summer of 1997. Her exposure to different school curricula as a private tutor made her device a curriculum at par with the top caliber private schools. It also gave her time-tested techniques in ensuring learning. This edge made her grab the opportunity when a small pre-school from a shaded garage in one of the big houses in Sampaloc decided to close shop. Reyes continued the same and found it the early fulfillment of her dreams. Today for Tomorrow’s Learners Pre-School and Tutorial Center opened in June 1997. OUR MISSION AND VISION
Today for Tomorrow’s Learners envisions a well rounded child who has understood himself and his environment thus enabling him to cope physically, socially and intelligently in life. To realize this vision, we commit to:

OUR GOALS
In consonance with our Mission-Vision Statement, Today for Tomorrow’s Learners aims to provide basic pre-school education imbued with Filipino values that would equip them with skills to attain academic excellence, social and physical development. Today for Tomorrow’s Learners also aims to provide the children opportunities to be themselves through the teachers’ understanding of the children’s nature and respect for their uniqueness. OUR SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- To provide a rich, stimulating environment where children can learn through discovery.
- To develop large motor skills (of the arms and feet) through outdoor play and games. This is a necessary condition for the development of fine motor skills or hand control essential to writing.
- To develop habits of safety and health.
- To develop fine motor skills (of the hand) through manipulative materials, arts, crafts, and proper use and care of said materials.
- To help the child concentrate.
- To help the child understand relationships and use rudimentary mathematical concepts.
- To develop the child’s language skills and acquire a rich vocabulary.
- To help the child enjoy learning through creative presentations and experiential learning.
- To promote a sound psychological well being which foster child development and ego strength.
- To provide the child opportunities to exercise his growing autonomy and ability to make choices.
- To help the child care for himself, others, the classroom and the different learning materials.
- To instill in the child respect and obedience to adults.
- To develop self discipline.
- To assume simple responsibilities.
- To work harmoniously and cooperate in a team.

- To appreciate God’s love through prayer, songs, harmonious relationship with others and care for His creations. CURRICULUM
The Kindergarten Educational Program utilizes the Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum based on the developmental characteristics of children. The curriculum covers areas in Phonics, Math, Writing and Science, Language, Pilipino leading to the integration of values and religion necessary to reinforce desirable behavior in children. Meaningful opportunities for self expression, development of large and fine motor skills are also provided through music, arts, cooking, physical education and free play. METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
The medium of instruction may be described as semi-traditional with the combination of tutorial method. Firstly, our approach is semi-traditional because the head teacher provides the information and the motivation for learning to ensure academic competence. We do not regard the child though, as mere passive recipient of information because opportunities for the discovery method are applied, whenever possible, in Math and Science. On the other hand, through our small teacher to pupil ratio, we have the luxury to apply the one-on-one tutorial method after the presentation of the common lesson. This method softens the seemingly closed authoritarian mode of the traditional classroom and fulfills the ideal atmosphere of home-school environment where individual attention is provided and the teachers have the time to lovingly nurture each child intellectually and emotionally.
