Last Nov. 16, 2023, ITSO-Technology Business Incubation Office (AdUNEST), in partnership with QBO Innovation HUB, PLDT, SASAKAWA PEACE FOUNDATION, and VENTUREWELL kicked off The HATCH 2023 powered by QBO AQADEMY CAMPUS TOUR 2023!
Students from Adamson University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, and DLSU joined us in this transformative experience, empowering students to lead in innovative transformation and embrace the value of technopreneurship!
To start the event, Dr. Venusmar C. Quevedo, Adamson University ITSO Manager and Vice President for Administrative Affairs, graced the gathering with an opening remark that reverberated hope and aspiration. Ian Charl Nico Tubban, the Head of ITSO - Technology Business Incubation Office, set the stage, unveiling the vision behind AdUNEST & The Falcon Incubation Program.
Participants were inspired during the Startup Founder keynote speeches and fireside chats with startup founders Alyssa Wee (Dormy PH), Emmanuel Perez (Kippap Learning Corp), and Patrick De Guzman (Saltric), brimming with entrepreneurial wisdom.
The LINQ-UP Ideation & Collaboration session was brimming with creativity and passion. Witnessing teams pitch their ideas and collaborate was a testament to the innovative spirit of our community. A round of applause for the LINQ-UP Top 3 Best Pitch winners! Your dedication and innovative ideas truly shone through. Special Thanks to our AdUNEST Mentors, Atty Jocel Isidro Dilag and Engr. Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing on September 12, 2023, to promote blockchain education and innovation. The Falcon Incubation Program: Fledglings Series 2023 - Countdown to Success!
In an exciting update, the Falcon Incubation Program 2023, an initiative spearheaded by Adamson University Neo Science and Technology Incubation Center (AdUNEST) in collaboration with the Board of Investments Philippines (BOI) and Atma Jaya Inkubator Bisnis, is rapidly approaching its triumphant conclusion. After an incredible journey spanning 12 intensive sessions, the program is now gearing up fo its grand finale, with just three sessions left to empower and transform budding startup teams into accomplished entrepreneurs.
With the help of our esteemed mentors and coaches from the academe, government and industry experts, the Fledglings are able to reach new heights making them more prepared for the future.
As the Falcon Incubation Program 2023 enters its final stretch, these entrepreneurs are eagerly anticipating the last three sessions, slated for the month of September. These sessions will cover digital storytelling and exit strategies equipping entrepreneurs with the final tools they need to confidently face the challenges and seize the opportunities that lie ahead.

Their expertise, passion, and leadership were displayed as they presented the transformative technology behind Claritea: A nutritious instant tea made from Philippine Raspberry. A registered IP protects this technology from the College of Pharmacy through the Adamson University Innovation and Technology Support Office (AdU-ITSO) in cooperation with Adamson University Technology Transfer Office (AdUTx). Presenting as a lightning talk team allowed them to showcase their entrepreneurial spirit and engage with the audience and industry experts. Their participation provided valuable networking opportunities and connections within the startup ecosystem.

Adamson University continues to be at the forefront of technopreneurial endeavors in the country.
AdU, through the Innovation and Technology Support Office - Adamson University Neo Science and Technology Incubation Center (ITSO – AdUNEST INC), once again served as host and organizers of the Technopreneurship Summit 2023 held last April 28 at the Co Po Ty Hall of the Dr. Carlos Tiu Center for Technology Innovation and Research.
The event carried the theme Unlocking New Frontiers and Embracing Emerging Technologies for Positive Change and brought experts and enthusiasts to discuss leveraging emerging technologies for positive change, wherein each had opportunities to share insights on different topics such as blockchain technology to artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.
University President Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM welcomed the event participants, reminding each to be in active participation of technopreneurship revolution that has continued to spread among industries and the academe.
An opening statement from Ms. Russell Pili, Chief of the Department of Science and Technology Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development Research Information and Technology Transfer Division (DOST-PCIEERD-RITTD) quickly followed. Ms. Pili explained the importance of the startup ecosystem, especially that in the Philippine setting.
Department of Information and Communications Technology ICT Industry Development Bureau (DICT-IIDB) Director Emmy Lou Delfin, the event’s Keynote Speaker then presented scholarship grants that may be availed by qualified personalities, as well as different projects aiming to develop tech startups in the country.
Various talks on propagating and developing startups through different means and media then followed.
Ms. Maria Raisa Helga Ysaac Orbon, Chief Marketing Officer of Packetworx, expounded on the topic on how the Internet of Things can help startups thrive in a post-pandemic era. Meanwhile, Mr. Eli Becislao, Managing Partner of The BLOKC, talked about blockchain technology and immersion.
Another discussion featured Ms. Cherry Murillon, CEO and Founder of industry-agnostic artificial intelligence solution firm CAWIL.AI, sharing her journey as an AI industry technopreneur from being a researcher. Arch. Joy Dawis-Asuncion, Assistant City Administrator of the City Government of Manila, on the other hand, presented the plans and development programs of the City of Manila to create the Manila ICE HUB (Manila Innovation and Creatives and Entrepreneurship HUB), which would help the technopreneurship/startup community and aspiring technology startup founders.
A panel discussion with guest panelist SCALE NCR Representative and Mirriam College Innovation Resource Manager Ms. Ma. Cristina Ibanez was then conducted, wherein panel members encouraged the participants to join the technopreneurship revolution to “help the country’s development.”
The said roundtable activity was moderated by Mr. Paolo Rentero, co-founder of startup consulting firm TechShake.
A message from Dr. Venusmar Quevedo, Vice President for Administrative Affairs and AdU ITSO Manager marked the end of the forum.
In her remarks, Dr. Quevedo urged participants – practitioners and students alike – to embrace innovation in emerging technologies to create new products and services for a positive impact
The event was held in partnership with SCALE NCR, a consortium of schools with technology business incubation centers. The consortium was represented by AdU ITSO IP Commercialization Head Engr. Noe Enriquez and SCALE NCR Lead Engr. Shearyl Arenas.
The Technopreneurship Summit successfully showcased emerging technologies’ potential for positive change and made participants and organizers alike look forward to similar events like this in the future, where each can continue exploring new frontiers and embracing emerging technologies to impact the world positively.

Borq Technologies Inc. is a start-up under the AdUNEST Falcon Incubation Program that envisions having a more comfortable and secure space using its surveillance system.
"BORQ WAN" is a surveillance system that can detect civic violations, public smoking, and drinking with an automatic alert system improving the effectiveness and efficiency of authorities in violation response.
They are committed to providing data-driven solutions for their customers and clients, ensuring a surveillance system they can trust.
The awarding and graduation of the ITSO IP Development and Commercialization was a success!
Opening the event was a motivating opening remark from Engr. Noe Enriquez, the ITSO IP Commercialization head, followed by an insightful special message by Dr. Catherine Casteneda, the vice president for academic affairs.
First was the Adamson University - ITSO awarding the granted patents, 2 UM grants from Chemical Engineering, one from Electrical Engineering, one from Pharmacy, and one from Information Technology and Information Systems. The certificate awarding was conducted by Dr. Venusmar Quevedo, AdU Vice-President for Administrative Affairs, and ITSO Manager, Dr. Nuna Almanzor, Executive Director of the AdU Center for Research and Development, together with Engr. Noe D. Enriquez and Ms. Anna Ramos, IP Commercialization Head, and IP Development Head, respectively.
The height of the event was the graduation of AdUNEST INC Incubatees, namely Borq Technologies Inc., Siklista, Claritea, and PondO2. Each incubatee presented their technologies, while their CEO's delivered a short message to our guests and participants. Once again, the ITSO Management Team (Dr. Quevedo, Engr. Enriquez, and Ms. Ramos), together with Engr. Lota M. Paras, Clustered Area Science and Technology Office Head of the DOST-NCR, presented the incubatees' certificates of recognition.
Engr. Lota Paras of the DOST-NCR also gave an insightful short message, sharing their office's role in advancing technopreneurship in the region.
Bringing the momentous occasion to a close was, once again, Dr. Quevedo highlighting the journey of AdU ITSO from breaking through the status quo to pushing forth the vision of an entrepreneurial university, which for her was the legacy she wanted to leave behind.

To end the year right, let's talk about copyright! AdUNEST INC, in partnership with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHIL), Adamson University ITSO, held the Copyright and Mobile App Development Webinar for the Computer Science, IT, and IS Departments.
IPOPHIL's Atty. Exequiel D. Valerio, Attorney IV of the Bureau of Copyright and Related Rights, Accreditation and Standards Division, educated the faculty and students about copyright and enlightened our participants about other related rights appropriate to mobile app development, software licenses, open source, and licensing of coding.
AltruInstitution is the Institutional Development Research part of the Altruistiks program's Social Innovation Agenda. Faculty Researchers from Adamson University, Engr. Sheila Mae Carungay, Engr. Lourdes Lasian, Engr. Dylan Lopez, and Arch.
