Building Our Future: Overview of the Proposed 2026 Constitution

The Philosophical Society of PNU-Manila is at a pivotal crossroads. As we transition into a fully independent and self-governing body, the Proposed 2026 Constitution serves as the blueprint for our shared future. This isn't just a policy update; it is a collective commitment to building a more professional, cohesive, and member-centered organization.

โš–๏ธ Why We Are Changing
Our organization must evolve to stay relevant and effective in addressing the current needs of its members. The 2026 Constitution ensures we are:
Aligned with University Standards: The revision ensures consistency with the 2024 Undergraduate Student Handbook and the PNU USC 2025 Constitution.
Independent & Empowered: Our new identity as the Philippine Normal University-Manila Philosophical Society marks our transition from a chapter to a separate, independent organization.
Clear and Functional: By clarifying roles, responsibilities, and procedures, we promote fairness and inclusivity while aligning with our core mission.

โš–๏ธ Key Improvements: From Major to Minor
We meticulously refined our governance to protect your rights and ensure transparency.
Structural Clarity: The Executive Council is being streamlinedโ€”introducing roles like President, Vice Presidents, and specialized Officersโ€”to eliminate operational overlap and ensure every leader is fully equipped to serve.
Enhanced Governance: For the first time, election procedures, disciplinary actions, and grievance resolutions are clearly laid out to ensure fairness for every member.
Strategic Organization: Sections like the Vision and Mission have been moved to new articles to ensure the constitution is easy to navigate and understand.

โš–๏ธ The Power of Your "YES" Vote
A YES vote is an essential step toward establishing ourselves as a self-governing body. Your support means:

Protecting Your Rights: Ensuring transparency, accountability, and fairness in all organizational processes.
Strengthening Leadership: Clearly outlining the powers and duties of officers to improve decision-making.
Long-Term Sustainability: Preparing the organization for future growth while maintaining a stro

Before this month reaches its final page, let us pause. And just like a every good philosopher does, let's reflect on the existence of those who make our society meaningful!

To our treasured February celebrants of The Philosophical Society of PNUโ€“Manila, may your lives continue to be living proofs that cogito, ergo sum is not just thoughtโ€”but action, passion, and purpose.

As another year unfolds in your personal timeline, may you keep questioning bravely, seeking truth relentlessly, and choosing wisdom over mere opinion. After all, a birthday is not simply the passing of timeโ€”it is the becoming of the self. โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Happiest Birthday, pilosopos! May your year be as profound as your reflections and as limitless as your inquiries.

On February 25, 1986, millions of Filipinos gathered along EDSA in a historic display of courage, unity, and faith. What began as a protest against dictatorship became a revolution that restored democracy and reminded the world of the extraordinary power of collective action. The EDSA People Power Revolution stands as a testament to what a nation can achieve when its people stand together for truth, justice, and freedom. It proved that weapons are no match for a united citizenry armed with conviction and hope.

Yet decades later, the promise of EDSA remains unfinished. Corruption persists in many formsโ€”public trust betrayed, resources misused, and power treated as entitlement rather than responsibility. There are those who attempt to distort, revise, or even erase the truths of history, reshaping narratives to protect reputations and preserve influence. When memory is manipulated, democracy is weakened; when truth is silenced, injustice finds space to grow.

As philosophers of our generation, we are called not only to rememberโ€”but to examine, to question, and to resist complacency. We must refuse to be passive spectators in the face of dishonesty and moral decay. The true commemoration of EDSA is not confined to anniversaries or ceremonies; it lives in our vigilance, our critical thinking, and our courage to hold leaders accountable.

Freedom is not self-sustaining. Democracy does not survive on nostalgia. It survives when citizens demand integrity, defend truth, and refuse to let history be rewritten for convenience. May we honor EDSA not merely with words, but with actionโ€”standing firm against corruption, protecting our collective memory, and proving once again that the power of the people is stronger than the abuse of power.

This February 25 (Wednesday), let us not be mere spectators of historyโ€”let us be participants in its continuation. Together, we remember. Together, we stand. Together, we act.

Where minds donโ€™t just meetโ€”they mean.

At DALUMATAAN IIย  in University of Santo Tomas, together with the PILOSOPOS, ideas were not simply presentedโ€”they were tested, challenged, unfolded, and reborn. Each research paper was more than a requirement; it was a brave offering of thought. Each presenter stood not just to speak, but to question reality a little deeper.

What made the event truly special was not only the brilliance of the papers, but the spirit of engagement in the room. Members listened with intention, asked with curiosity, and responded with insight. Arguments were refined, perspectives were widened, and assumptions were gently shaken. In every critique, there was growth. In every discussion, there was discovery.

DALUMATAAN II reminded us that philosophy is not confined to books. It lives in conversations, in courage, and in the willingness to rethink what we thought we knew. And as pilosopos, we left not only informed, but transformed, carrying with us sharper minds, fuller hearts, and a deeper love for the life of the intellect.

Meet Cristel from BEE III-2, running for Creative Archon! ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธโœจ

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œI believe in the power of innovative communication to inspire intellectual curiosity. My goal is to uplift philosophy with creativity, making our organization's activities and discussions eye-catching and meaningful.โ€

Cristel blends practical expertise with a vision for growth. With her background as a Business Manager for a family businessโ€”focusing on strategy and digital marketingโ€”she is ready to apply these professional skills to ensure every PhiloSoc message is "meaningfully creative."

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ ๐˜๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ:
Rooted in the Socratic idea that an "unquestioned aesthetic can be uninspiring," Cristel plans to elevate how PhiloSoc presents itself. By using modern, creative designs, she aims to capture attention and ensure the organization's image truly reflects its deep philosophical roots.

Meet Mela from TEDPaths I-20, running for Records Archon! ๐Ÿ“‹๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œI believe that I have the capabilities that are needed and are very important for this position, such as effective time management, being goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills.โ€

Mela is ready to bring precision and accountability to the society. Her background in both school and church organizations has honed her skills in documenting meeting minutes and maintaining accurate recordsโ€”areas where responsibility and organization are paramount.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ ๐˜๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ:
Melaโ€™s goal is to create and maintain organized records that support clear communication and effective decision-making. She aims to ensure the organization stays aligned with transparency and reliability through efficient management.
