A newly identified fungal genus now bears the name of UST mycologist Prof. Irineo Dogma Jr., placing the veteran scientist among the few researchers recognized in taxonomy through organisms named after them.

February 16, 2026: Deadline for the submission of Thesis/Dissertation Hardcopies.
February 17, 2026: Start of release for the Certificate of Candidacy.
π REQUIREMENTS FOR TOR PROCESSING
Upon issuance of your General Clearance, please prepare the following documents:
Certificate of Candidacy
Dummy Diploma (provided during the rites)
Official Receipts (O.R.) for the following fees:
Graduation Fee (β±600)
Diploma (β±200) & TOR (β±200/page)
Certificate of Graduation (β±150)
Documentary Stamp (β±90)
Scan Fee (β±50)
Certificate of Publication or Presentation (secure from GSREO)
Certificate of Copyright (from Research Management & Intellectual Property Office)

Attention to all Graduate School students scheduled for the Comprehensive Examination on February 21, 2026. Please be guided by the following instructions and room assignments to ensure a smooth examination day.

βοΈ IMPORTANT EXAMINATION REMINDERS
Please strictly observe the following protocols during the exam:
Preparation: Take time to outline your answers for each question before writing them in the test booklet.
Formatting: Write legibly on one side of the paper only (no back-to-back writing).
Anonymity & Tools: Do not write your name or any identifying marks on the test booklet. Use black or blue pens only.
Identification: Ensure you write your program/course in the designated space provided.
Electronic Devices: Turn off your cell phone and place it inside your bag. Carrying mobile phones or smartwatches inside or outside the exam room is strictly prohibited; smartwatches must be removed and stored before entering.
Post-Exam: Return the envelope, questionnaire, and scratch papers to the proctor after finishing.
Duration: You have a total of three (3) hours to complete the exam.

MS Biology Seminar on CBRN Preparedness
π Exciting Seminar on CBRN Preparedness π
On January 10, 2026, the PUP Graduate School students hosted a face-to-face, insightful seminar titled βFrom Lab to Field: CBRN Preparedness and First Response Training for Biologistsβ. 𧬠The seminar focused on the essential role of biologists in chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) preparedness and first response.
With expert speakers Dr. Noel A. Saguil and Noel Ison, Jr., the seminar featured valuable discussions on biosafety, emergency preparedness, and response in laboratory and field environments. Participants gained hands-on experience and enhanced their skills as first responders.

Zoom Bioseminar on Marine Biochemistry
π Exploring Marine Biochemistry for Global Sustainability π¬
On January 8, 2026, the PUP Graduate School students hosted a groundbreaking Zoom bioseminar titled βBioprospecting the Seas: Harnessing Biochemistry and Biomolecular Research for Global Sustainability.β π The virtual event brought together experts in marine science to discuss the critical role of marine biodiversity in advancing sustainability.
Dr. Samuel Espino, Dr. Shrinivasan Raghuraman, and Dr. Noel A. Saguil shared their knowledge on marine toxins, venom research, and sustainable bioprospecting. Participants were deeply engaged in the Q&A sessions, highlighting the potential of marine resources for ecological advancements. π±
