FEU Students participated in several Summer Camps organized by international partnered HEIs.

Last August 2024, 2 FEU students, Nathaniel Bernardo (FEU IAS Department of Interdisciplinary Studies) and Suzanne Dela Cruz, (FEU Manila Psychology) through FEU International Relations Office, FEU Institute of Arts and Sciences and FEU-Student Development, visited Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia to represented Far Eastern University during the iCamp 2024.

FEU and UM previously collaborated during the SEA Teachers Program 2023, and soon forged partnership to further explore international opportunities for both HEIs. This is the first time FEU has participated in the Summer Camp organized by UM.

FEU Students participated in several Summer Camps organized by international partnered HEIs.

Last August 2024, as a collaboration between FEU Institute of Arts and Sciences and FEU-Student Development, 2 FEU students, Olivia Theresa Ricaforte (FEU Department of International Studies) and Hans Gabriel Empleo (FEU Department of Political Science), represented Far Eastern University during their visit to Hungkuang University, Taiwan, to participate in the 2024 HKU Summer Camp.

This is the second time FEU has participated in the Summer Camp organized by HKU. FEU International Relations Office is keen to provide more international student mobility programs in partnership with Hungkuang University.

FEU Students participated in several Summer Camps organized by international partnered HEIs.

Last August 2024, Fionna Desserei Baculi (Computer Engineering, FEU Institute of Technology), Renmel Andal (Business Administration, FEU Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance), and Heather Martinez (Fine Arts, Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts) represented Far Eastern University during their visit to Ming Chi University of Technology, Taiwan, to participate in the 2024 MCUT Language & Culture Camp in Taiwan.

This is the second time FEU has participated in the Summer Camp in MCUT. FEU International Relations Office is looking forward to more international collaborations with Ming Chi University of Technology.

FEU International Relations Office extends their appreciation to all FEU Student Buddies of the De Anza College (DAC) Study Abroad Program 2024 through a special closing ceremony at the Architecture and Fine Arts Building room 103 last August 6, 2024.

The event highlighted the contributions of the Student Buddies in executing the study abroad program starting from the preparations, airport pick-up, and even during the classes, community visits, workshops, and tours. The event also included an exchange of messages between DAC Faculty Member, Ms. Chesa and the FEU Student Buddies. Along with the exchange of messages, a dedicated shirt and tokens were given to all student buddies from the DAC to further show their gratitude.

Again, thank you very much to our dear Student Buddies, it was a pleasure working with everyone.

De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024 – Day 19 Closing Activity

This day marked the closing of the De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024 held at Lanson’s Place, Mall of Asia. During the closing activities, student-participants shared their expectations, insights, and realizations of the whole study abroad program. All students received their certificates which marks their completion of the study abroad in the Philippines.

A short video clip from the Media Center was shown by the end of the program which perfectly highlights the experiences of everyone.

Student-delegates from De Anza College shifted to online classes due to challenging weather conditions. Assoc. Dean Francis Esteban from the Institute of Arts and Sciences facilitated the talk focusing on the ASEAN Region and ASEAN Integration.

De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024 – Day 16

The delegates spent the day with Dr. Rita Cucio where she delivered a short talk on the Indigenous People of the Philippines. Amidst the brewing typhoon, selected participants traveled to Porac, Pampanga to personally meet the Aeta Community and learn their way of life.

The De Anza College group gave their donations and were given fresh fruits in return.

De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024 – Day 15

The delegates attended classes held at Colegio de Sebastian, Pampanga. The first class facilitated by Mr. Timothy Sanchez was about “What We Eat. A commentary on the eating culture of Pampanga from pre-colonial to post Mount Pinatubo eruption in 1991” followed by Ar. Raquel Baquiran, Vice President for Academic Services, focusing with “Heritage Homes in Pampanga”.

After the classes, the participants traveled to Angeles City, Pampanga, to enjoy an enriching lunch while learning about Pampanga's rich culinary heritage while the group is enjoying the rustic ambiance in Bale Dutung with a cooking demo of ”ningnang sisig”. The last part of the leg was a visit to Diaspora Farm Resort wherein the participants had a taste of “pepalto & batirul”.

De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024 – Day 12

The delegates enjoyed a boodle-fight lunch in Balinsasayaw Restaurant. Just like how the locals eat, without cutleries the student-participants used their hands during their boodle-fight lunch making their immersion more memorable.

On their second day with FEU Cavite, the group attended classes facilitated by Dr. Percival Paras, (History and State of Philippine Education) and Ms. Reyette Paunan (Issues in Philippine Basic Education.

The group also visited the Biluso Elementary School to deliver school supplies.

De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024 - Day 10

The DAC delegation visited FEU Cavite as part of their itinerary. The group was welcomed by Dr. Myrna Quinto, Executive Director of FEU Cavite followed by specialized classes facilitated by distinguished faculty members who shared their experiences and areas of expertise.

De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024 - Day 9

Together with FEU High School, the delegates visited Gawad Kalinga - Paradise Height in Tondo, Manila for their first Community Engagement.

In this activity, the delegates were immersed in the community and toured around the Gawad Kalinga headquarters. The delegates were then partnered with residents from the community as their foster families. After their interactions at the top of the mountain, donations were given to the foster families as tokens of appreciation from the De Anza College.

De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024 - Day 8

The delegates attended a class with Dr. Juanito Anot, Director, University Research Center. The discussion focused on Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW).

Later that day, FEU Center for the Arts provided workshops for the delegation highlighting FEU’s cultural performers, FEU Bamboo Band and FEU Chorale.

De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024 - Day 5

Day 5 of the Study Abroad Program lead the delegates to a tour around Angono, Rizal. Guided by James Owen Saguinsin, the group partook on several art and culture exposures in the Art Capital of the Country.

Among the sites visited by the delegates were the Angono-Binangonan Petroglyphs, Carlos “Botong” Francisco’s Heritage Home, Blanco Family Museum, Nono Museum and the Kampo de Angono, where the delegates were live sketched by the Grupo Sabado Angono.

De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024 - Day 4

The delegates attended classes with Dean Harold Bueno from the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, and Dean Isaiah Israel Susi with Ar. Elmer Soliman as facilitators. Dean Harold focused on Philippine Food Culture, while Dean Isaiah and Ar. Elmer discussed the History and Development of Manila as a City.

The group then went on a Binondo Food Crawl via tuktuks where they tried out some traditional food from D**g Bei Dumplings, Shanghai Fried Siopao. They also went to Polland Hopia for a hopia-making class. After the food crawl, the proceeded to the Chinatown Museum located at the Hotel Lucky Chinatown where they learned about the history of the oldest Chinatown in the world.

De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024 - Day 3

The 3rd day of the De Anza College Study Abroad Program started with a guided tour of the National Museum: Museum of Natural History (NMNH), headed by Dr. Pauline Basilia as they toured around the exhibits. After the activities at the NMNH, the delegates proceeded to Barbara's Heritage Restaurant for a lunch filled of Filipino dishes while being serenaded by local performers.

The delegates also visited San Agustin Museum, and Fort Santiago in Intramuros with Dr. Romeo Galang sharing his extensive knowledge on Philippine history.

De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024 - Day 2

Following the opening activities, Day 2 focused on the Philippine Languages and Personhood which was facilitated by Ameerah Milano. During this lecture, the presentation highlighted the history of Philippine Community History and Society through the lens of the Filipino Language. The talk also gave the delegates an opportunity to deepen their appreciation for Philippine Culture and Arts through "Filipinolohiya".

Later that day, the delegates proceeded to the FEU Dance Studio where they were welcomed by the FEU Dance Company with their instructors, Michael Barry Que and John Albert Furing. During this workshop, the instructors taught several traditional Filipino Folk Dances particularly, “Tinikling”.

Earlier today, marked the Day 1 of the De Anza College Study Abroad Program 2024. The delegates from De Anza College, USA were warmly greeted by the FEU Drummers as they walk in the happy halls of FEU. FEU Officials headed by the President, Juan Miguel R. Montinola, and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Maria Teresa Trinidad P. Tinio, with the Director of International Relations Office, Driselle Pajuyo, and select Faculty Experts received the group as they arrive at the Administration Building.

The delegates then proceeded to the Multi-purpose Room as a continuation of the opening ceremonies with the Vice President for Academic Development, Evangeline Bautista addressed them with her welcoming remarks.

The rest of the activities focused on further introducing the delegates, giving of tokens, sharing of snacks, ice breakers, Filipino-inspired lunch, and a university guided tour accompanied by FEU Guides and FEU Student Buddies.

DAY 1 OF TAMBOUND KOREA 2024 at Far East University, South Korea:

Students and faculty kicked off with an orientation, meeting the University President, touring FEU Korea facilities, and enjoying a Korean culinary experience.

Participants explored the surroundings during free time and ended the day with a delightful, authentic samgyupsal feast.
