WARNING: Don’t Make These 4 Facebook Advertising Mistakes
Avoid These 4 Facebook Advertising Mistakes at All Costs
According to a recent report, Facebook advertising spend is expected to reach $25.56 billion by the end of 2019. This means there’s been a whopping 107% increase from 2016.

This means that numerous advertisers are doing amazing things and seeing results — BUT it also means that tons are making Facebook advertising mistakes and pouring money down the drain in an effort to get it right.

To help you avoid some of the most costly mistakes, we’ve taken a deep dive into five of the most common errors companies and brands are making every day.

If you find yourself making them, we strongly recommend that you make adjustments ASAP.
First and foremost, you’ve got to know the “whys” behind what you’re doing. What is your goal with your Facebook ad campaign? Do you want to drive conversions? Are you looking for more page likes? Need to drive app installs?

Selecting the wrong objective leads to money down the drain, lack of necessary data to make optimizations and frustration.

#2 – Don’t Guess at Where Your Online and Call Conversions Are Coming From
Once you’ve got your objective in place and you’re reaching your target audience, it’s vital that you know where your conversions are coming from. Assuming won’t get you anywhere.

As you already know, Facebook Ads Manager has the power to measure online results. You’ll never have to guess how many clicks, impressions, and website conversions you have, but when it comes to orders by phone that was generated by your Facebook efforts, it’s hard to measure.

#3 – Don’t Get Stuck in the Stale Image Rut

Testing images is one of THE most important things you can do. Sometimes we all get in an image rut. We don’t test enough and find new/innovative images that will fuel the clicks and conversions you need.

If you find your conversions dwindling and haven’t A/B tested images. It’s suggested you test between 3-5 new images. AND make sure that you’re only testing one variable at a time.

For example, testing image/headline combinations while also testing the main copy within an ad should be a no-go. Once you have your images and headlines nailed, you may want to consider tweaking your main ad copy — or the other way around.

#4 – Don’t Spend Based on Your Hunches

Data, data data! You’ve got to keep drilling it into your head — hunches should never drive your decisions.

Yes, there are moments when you get a gut feeling and you’re 100% on track, but it’s imperative you back your hunches up with real data.

[ 4 Secrets to Building Killer Video Ads ]
- 4 Tips for Successful Video Ads
In today’s world, where there are so many options in the advertising and marketing world, it’s hard to know exactly which ad opportunities to choose. Of course, conversions, leads and meeting your organizational goals is a must, but don’t be too hard on yourself if you’re not sure which steps to take and when.

The following tips and tricks will help you in your quest to select the right ads, at the right moment. So let’s jump to it…

#1 – Know What Your Goals Are

You’ve got to know exactly what your objective is and why you’re in business in the first place. It’s quite common for growing and even established brands to lose sight of their true focus and veer off into directions that don’t serve the main objective.

Take a day — or even a week if need be, to breathe, look at your true purpose and objective, and refocus. Map out a blueprint that can evolve as you go.

#2 – Get Your Sales Messages All Mapped Out

Once you’ve gotten back on track, take time to evaluate your sales messages and create a clear and concise path of discovery for your consumer. Make sure that your voice, tone, and language is on point.
If for any reason you are unclear what your voice, tone and messaging should be, you may need to take a step back and create some voice and tone guidelines. You can do this by evaluating the audience(s) you’re trying to reach and seeking out examples of content that have been proven to work well. Pay attention to your competition and how they’re crafting their messaging.

Once you’re certain as to the direction you need to take, dare to share exactly why your product is superior, how your business processes are beneficial to the planet or to humanity and provide tangible examples and touchpoints that can resonate with your audience.

#3 – Get Creative with Your Content

Once you know exactly what you need to share with the world, pair your messaging with video content with visual content that creates impact.

There’s a reason why videos that offer side-by-side comparisons, product unboxings, product demonstrations, interviews with founders and product innovators, testimonials, lifestyle sketches, and illustrations work so beautifully.

The secret to your success is to make your audience feel like your product or service is right in front of their nose. The more you reveal and SHOW why your offerings are paradigm-changing, the better your video ads will perform.

#4 – Test, Get Feedback & Modify Over & Over Again

Once you’ve created video content, don’t think for a second your job is done. Throw your content out there and run modest tests.

For example, if you’re running a video ad on Facebook, carefully select your prime audience and run a test. Don’t be surprised if your video content doesn’t resonate… or even if you get some negative feedback.

Watch carefully and listen to what is being said… then make adjustments as needed. When you notice conversions are climbing, you can rest a bit easier, but don’t stop there. Create new content and have it waiting for when/if your current video loses steam.

Or better yet, create an A/B test (aka split test) where you test a new video concept against the version that’s doing well for the moment. The secret to your success is constant innovation… and then testing… over and over again.

Last Words

There’s a fine balance between knowing who you are as a brand, knowing what you want to communicate, and how your audience ACTUALLY sees you.

If you dare to take a deeper dive into your purpose… your “why”… and then LISTENING to what your target audience is wanting out of you, it’s possible to create killer video creatives and messaging that will take your efforts to the next level.

5 TIPS TO DEVELOP YOUR BRAND ON TIKTOK

Following up on the topic of marketing for Gen Z generation, in addition to Instagram, Tiktok is also a favorite social-media platform with a drastic increase in the number of users.
The influences of Tiktok are undeniable, and that’s why we have this topic.
Belows are 5 tips to develop your brand on Tiktok we concluded after a period of time to learn, use tiktok regularly and advise a number of partners.

❎ Tip #1: Make advertising content following video trends

Tiktok has a special feature that allows users to create video content and express themselves through a toolkit: background music, effects, stickers, etc. especially updating trending themes, hashtags and challenges. Therefore, you can easily follow any video trend you want and don’t forget to include advertising contents in your video.
Your videos will go viral naturally and reach a huge number of users if you include trending hashtags or challenges in an unique content.
Search the brand named decumar.vn on Tiktok for references, they are doing a really great job.

❎ Tip #2: Reach out to Hot Tiktokers for advertising content

"Hot Tiktokers" or Kols on Tiktok are young people that have a massive number of followers with hot videos. They are mainly in the Gen Z user group, understand Tiktok very well and are familiar with content creation. So instead of doing things yourself or being afraid to show yourself, you can "hire" these Tiktok KOLs to make promotional videos/ go to showrooms, shops, restaurants, etc. to perform challenges.
Similar to the first tip, following trending content/music/challenges will help your brand have a larger coverage.

❎ Tip #3: Create your own trending content

This tip is for those who have a good financial budget. Creating your own trending content instead of following trending ones that can easily be blended into hundreds of thousands of videos uploaded daily is also a good idea.
Tiktok videos are limited to 15 seconds max. You can make videos with your own music or using the hot ones (of course buying copyright is needed), then use both tip #1 & 2 to make them go viral with the same hashtag. This activity should be done by partners of Tiktok in Vietnam to have the most effective effect.

❎ Tip #4: Create entertainment channels

Tips mentioned above are for the purpose of promoting and raising product coverage directly. Meanwhile creating entertainment channels on Tiktok is similar to creating entertainment fanpages on Facebook that you can add Vietnamese subtitles to Chinese and Japanese Tiktok videos, compile hot and highly entertaining videos, etc. to attract followers. After that, you can add promotional videos, sales links, brand logos or any commercial activities that you want to your account.

❎ Tip #5: The simplest one - Buy ads on Tiktok

In addition to creating your own ads, you can also buy ads on Tiktok to promote your brand.
There are 2 types of ad appearance: when users open the application and when users surf to watch videos
Follows are 4 forms of display advertising campaigns:
Shown when opening the app (First View Take Over)
Random display (Regular Take Over)
One-day display (One Day Max - In Feed Ads)
Regular display (Brand Premium - In Feed Ads)
You can contact Tiktok’s agency partners for specific advice on how to buy ads.

IS IT HARD TO GET 1 MILLION FOLLOWERS ON TIKTOK???

Many of you asked us if it’s hard to build up a channel of 1 million followers on Tiktok and how to do that. At this time, it’s still quite easy. We built up 2 channels with the number of followers is 1 million and 500,000 within 2 months. We also got tens of thousands of followers on the smaller ones with a few videos.
How did we get that?

❌ Step 1: Identify your channel orientation
- What is the purpose of your channel? Are you going to sell things, build up a community or run ads for business?
- Determine content: What is the main content of your channel?
The following types of content will go viral quickly on Tiktok: Heart touching/cute moments, Comedy, Parody, Duets, Dubbing, Comic, Cosplay, Unique Creators.
- Is your channel self-produced? Are you going to re-upload videos of other channels?

❌ Step 2: Find content for your videos
You can find good ideas from trending hashtags, influencers (those are often the fastest trend catchers), Douyin (Chinese tiktok), Global Tiktok or Chinese Tiktok's social listening tools.

❌ Step 3: Test for interaction
Tiktok’s content distribution mechanism is different from Facebook. Videos will be shown on your private page randomly.
Tiktok identifies your preferences based on:
* Video duration
* Your interactions
* Keywords you searched for
* Profiles you viewed

When a new video is uploaded, Tiktok will spread it out to around 100 users to collect interaction data.
- Videos with low-level of interaction will no longer be shown
- Videos with high-level of interaction will continue to reach to a few hundred others and more. Therefore, you are able to test for interaction by uploading videos with multiple types of content to find the good ones for your channel.

❌ Step 4: Make videos
If you re-upload videos on Tiktok, your account can be locked. Some people use tricks to avoid account lockout: making upside down videos, removing the logo, etc. but it’s not a good way to follow in the long term.

There’re not many requirements in making videos on Tiktok so far, so you can just focus on the content.

⭐ Tip #1: Videos with a large number of participants are preferred by Tiktok (we used 2 tips in our 1 million follower channel: heart touching moments and a massive number of participants).
⭐ Tip # 2: Apply VAS formula in making videos to raise the number of followers quickly.
- Value: Give your followers value, show them what they get following your channel
- Awe: Make use of your followers’ fears
- Surprise: Surprise your followers with a twist
- Humor: Most people uses Tiktok as a source of entertainment therefore humorous videos will get more attractions

Are you ready to have 1 million followers on Tiktok now?

[2020 Case Study] $388,874.33 Revenue In 49 Days With 109% Increase in Returning Customer Rate - The Breakdown
Facebook is constantly changing. Always new updates. Algorithm is never the same. It’s IMPORTANT to be on top of your game. Especially since the CBO roll out is happening soon …

I’m going to go over the strategies, systems, and campaign structures on how we profitably made over $380,000 in 49 days.

Quick Numbers breakdown before we begin:

AOV: $84
Niche: Sports Accessories & Gym Apparel
Monthly Ad Spend Budget: $80,000 (A little over 2K a Day)
Initially after having access to my clients account, I saw they had decent results with past Ad sets. The Creatives looked good. Copy was decent. They had 2 or 3 proven audiences but the brand struggled on Scaling.

Every time they tried to scale, the cost per acquisition would skyrocket. ROAS would fall to the floor and they would barely make any money.

We Started out by Creating Custom Audiences. Here’s the list
WV: Website Visits
VC: View Content
ATC: Add to Cart
IC: Initiate Checkout
Pur: Purchase
AEP: All Engagement Page
EAPOA: Engaged Any Post or Ad
VV 75%: Video View at least 75% Watched
VV 95%: Video View at least 95% Watched
VC + [Specific Product]

We set it up by creating all these audiences in both 30 Days and 180 Days
[ 20 Audiences in Total ]

And then from here we built Lookalike audiences for each one. Each Lookalke audience was set up like this:
1%
1% to 5%
5% to 10%

Ad Set Budget Level has worked pretty good with this account but they haven’t tried CBO and since CBO is starting to roll out permanently soon … we got to get started.

Right off the bat, we started optimizing for purchases. Didn’t really like the results from it since we were only averaging 1.8x ROAS per day on TOF and I knew we can do better.

I came up with a gameplan and started optimizing for ATC. From there, COMPLETE GAME CHANGER. Purchases were rolling in. Add to carts were super cheap. And when we did Re Targeting … our average roas were in the 6-7x range or higher!

So here’s how the campaign structures looked:

TOF
Top of Funnel. Cold Audience

Ad Set 1:
1st Audience: 1% LLA
Ads: Dynamic. 2 Images, 2 Videos. 4 Headlines. 3 Copies

Ad Set 2:
2nd Audience: 1% LLA
Ads: Dynamic. 2 Images, 2 Videos. 4 Headlines. 3 Copies
Ad Set 3:
3rd Audience: 1% LLA
Ads: Dynamic. 2 Images, 2 Videos. 4 Headlines. 3 Copies

Ad Set 4:
4th Audience: 1% LLA
Ads: Dynamic. 2 Images, 2 Videos. 4 Headlines. 3 Copies

Campaign 2
1st Audience: 1-5% LLA
Ads: Dynamic. 2 Images, 2 Videos. 4 Headlines. 3 Copies

Ad Set 2:
2nd Audience: 1-5% LLA
Ads: Dynamic. 2 Images, 2 Videos. 4 Headlines. 3 Copies
Ad Set 3:
3rd Audience: 1% LLA
Ads: Dynamic. 2 Images, 2 Videos. 4 Headlines. 3 Copies

Ad Set 4:
4th Audience: 1-5% LLA
Ads: Dynamic. 2 Images, 2 Videos. 4 Headlines. 3 Copies

Campaign 3
1st Audience: 5-10% LLA
Ads: Dynamic. 2 Images, 2 Videos. 4 Headlines. 3 Copies

Ad Set 2:
2nd Audience: 5-10% LLA

Ads: Dynamic. 2 Images, 2 Videos. 4 Headlines. 3 Copies
Ad Set 3:
3rd Audience: 5-10% LLA
Ads: Dynamic. 2 Images, 2 Videos. 4 Headlines. 3 Copies

Ad Set 4:
4th Audience: 5-10% LLA
Ads: Dynamic. 2 Images, 2 Videos. 4 Headlines. 3 Copies

Using dynamic is my favorite by far. All the testing is done for you and you get winning combinations. Each day, depending on the budget and how the campaigns are looking, I would test different LLA and of course, the ones making money I would keep and others I would turn them off.

My best Lookalikes were:

Purchases 1% to 5%
VC + [Specific Product] 1%
ATC 1%
VV + 75% 1%
WV 1% to 5%
Personally, I start with 30 Days and then from there go up to 180 Days (There’s no Facebook Ads Guru Wisdom here. It’s just a preference)

In Ecom, I always see people with short copy. But lately, I have been doing a little bit of Long Copy and it’s been working out.
Ad Copy Example:

Top of the Ad: Testimonial

Middle of the Ad: Identifying Pain Points and Emotional benefits of using the product.

Bottom of the Ad: Discount Code + Shop Now

Like I mentioned before, this is where Dynamic Ads comes in play and really tests out what works and what doesn’t.

M*F

This is where your audiences are in the warm stage.

This is going to be:
Engagement (Both Facebook and Instagram)
VV 50%
VV 75%
VV 95%
Exclude purchasers and page viewers to avoid any potential overlap.
In M*F, I ran Dynamic Ads and tested with Carousels, Slide Shows, and Images that were submitted by Customers
BOF
BOF is when we target the website traffic that hasn’t converted into a sale.
Here are the audiences I use:

ATC Exclude Purchase 3 Days
ATC Exclude Purchase 7 Days
ATC Exclude Purchase 14 Days
VC Exclude ATC 3 Days
VC Exclude ATC 7 Days
VC Exclude ATC 14 Days
VC Exclude ATC 30 Days
WV 3 Days
WV 7 Days
WV 14 Days
WV 30 Days
I am taking two different approaches with retargeting:
DPA
Conversion Campaign
Usually for these ads I run carousel or slide show.

For the 3 day audiences, I tell them about our free shipping if you spend X amount [I don’t mention discount]
For 7 day audiences, 10% Off
For 14 day audiences, 15% Off
For 30 day audiences, “Last Chance Deal” 20% Off

You can get from 5x - 12x Roas on these re targeting ads alone

Scaling
This is where the juicy stuff begins.
Any Winning Audience or interests that works. We save it in a Google Doc to keep track of things. (This saves a lot of time instead of trying to remember and having to go back to ads manager and do research again)

All our Winning Audiences we would split them in different ad sets and put them in one CBO and test it (4 or 5 ad sets max per CBO). We would have it compete with other winning Audiences to see who would perform best.

And simultaneously, we also test these audiences in Ad Set Level budget as well just to see if it will produce same or different results.

We started optimizing winning audiences around certain age ranges as well. Nothing too specific but 35 - 65+ or 45-65+ range per ad set. Keeping things as wide as possible is very important with Facebook Ads because you want the Pixel to work with you and not restricting it by going too specific.

*If you go too specific in the age it might hurt your results but you should always test*

Once we start seeing results and clear winners. We duplicate the winning Ad set or Ad sets into a new campaign. Each winning ad set had its own campaign. And each winning ad set we would duplicate 5x in a single CBO campaign and up the budget between 15% to 25%.

Now, the secret is NOT in the duplication (Anyone can do that). The secret is in the RULES to make sure your Cost Per Acquisition is not skyrocketing through the roof and you remain profitable (This is where a lot of people fail when trying to scale)

Most marketers, when it comes to rules, solely focus on the Purchases and Cost per purchase level but there’s a better way. More efficient. I like to focus on early key indicators (Cost of Initial Checkout or Add to Cart)

For example:

if I spend X amount and I get X amount of Add to carts then turn it off.

If Cost per add to cart reaches X amount then turn it off

I'm not saying to delete any Purchases rules because you're always going to need those but start adding ATC and IC rules in there

By doing this you will save a lot of money in the long run because you don’t have to spend as much to know if the ad set is a bust and you can make decisions sooner.

Creating Rules around your early key indicators will play a Major role in scaling [You MUST understand your numbers to make this work]

To wrap up this post, If you want to scale to 7 figures & beyond just know the real money is ALWAYS made in the Re Targeting & LTV.

Take it easy guys. Hope this helps

Out of all of the methods I used to grow my brand, social media marketing was by far the most effective method. In one year, my blog traffic increased 15 times over primarily because of social media. Just like anyone else, I struggled with social media in the beginning, but after learning a few game-changing tactics to grow my social media audience, I started to get the results that I now have today.

I currently have over 200,000 social media followers across all of my platforms and I interact with hundreds of people on them every day. It’s fair to say I am living the advanced version of a teenage dream 🙂

In this course, I will share with you the methods I used to go from no audience to over 200,000 social media followers in a time effective manner. Since I go to school, write blog posts, and create products, I don’t have much time to work on growing my social media platforms, but the time that I use on my social media platforms is spent very effectively. In fact, I gain hundreds of followers across these platforms every day.

All you have to do to get lifetime access to all of the lectures on my course and the lectures I add in the future is to click the “Take This Course” button. I look forward to serving you throughout the course and watching you grow on social media.
