The FBSE is a specialized training program designed by the Department of Tourism with the vision to position the Philippines as the center for global tourism and hospitality.

The School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management was proud to host the first Br. Andrew Gonzalez Academia-Industry Conference with the theme Unlocking the Code to Global Excellence in Tourism Education.

Day 2 of the conference was held on August 14, 2024, at the Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle. The second day focused on giving participants and industry leaders a venue to present their ideas and services, as well as to connect and explore possible collaborations and partnerships.

Committed to global excellence in tourism education, the first Br. Andrew Gonzalez Academia-Industry Conference highlighted important discussions on innovation and adaptability, as well as unlocking collaborations and partnerships between academic institutions, industry leaders, and government agencies.

Day 1 of the conference was held on August 13, 2024, at Marriott Hotel Manila, with industry partners, academic institutions, and policymakers in attendance. More than ever, the conference proved that continuous dialogues, responsiveness, and synergy between institutions are important in building and creating a better future, not just for students, but for the tourism industry and the whole nation.

The first Br. Andrew Gonzalez Academia-Industry Conference is a series of industry-academe conversations that will be led by the different schools of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. Its first installment, Unlocking the Code to Global Excellence in Tourism Education, is organized by the School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management.

If there’s one thing that Janelle Ang excels at is that she keeps making herstory. This unstoppable lady adds another history breaking moment in her accolades as she recently took home the title of the First Female Champion of the Monin Cup Philippines 2024.

Janell, a Hospitality Management graduate, is off to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia this September to compete for the MONIN-Asia Pacific Regional Finals. Congratulations, Janelle! 🥂

Also, congratulations to Hospitality Management graduate, Enrico Adolfo, for winning 1st runner-up in the competition! Cheers to our successful Benildean bartenders!

The Monin Cup is an international competition for bartenders organized by Monin. In 2022, another Hospitality Management graduate, Mark Defensor won the Monin Cup Philippines title and represented the country in the regional leg of the competition! Hail to our back-to-back Benildean champions!! ✨

From July 1, 2024 to September 7, 2024, the Vatel Nímes Internship Program provides students with invaluable hands-on experience in various hotel and restaurant operations at Vatel Nímes.

Our Hospitality Management students are pioneer batch of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners (ICIF) new course on Restaurant Service, Coffee, and Oenology!

In photos: The students experienced a whole week dedicated to the wines from Piedmont region, in collaboration with the Barbera d'Asti and Monferrato Wines Consortium, which kindly provided the wines of their associated wine companies, for the tastings included in the course, and the food-wine pairings held by the AIS Sommelier Ezio Cravero, a training completed by visits to some of the most important wineries in the Piedmont area. Today we have 7 new Experts that will be Ambassadors on Philippines of the Piedmontese wines.
