TAMang Boto

TAMang Boto TAMang Boto is the sole student-led advocacy group of the FEU Group of Schools The phases stated are recurring and are rotating through a set of cycles.

TAMang Boto is a student-led initiative established by the FEU Political Science Society Executive Board of 2020-2021 to embolden and reaffirm among the FEU students that youth participation in the Local and National Elections is crucial process towards creating a pivotal change in nation-building. The FEU TAMang Boto aims to give the FEU Community and its external stakeholders a solid foundation

towards understanding the need to practice their right of suffrage by implementing a three-fold plan that is divided into three (3) phases which take into consideration a continuous youth involvement cycle that happens every year:

1. PHASE 1: VOTER REGISTRATION - The β€œVoter Registration” phase focuses on encouraging and guiding the eligible FEUyouth to register to their respective COMELEC precincts. The TAMang Boto, through its page, provides all necessary information needed to comply with COMELEC's voter registration period.

2. PHASE 2: VOTERS’ EDUCATION - This phase aims to educate the Tamaraw youth on the effects and results of youth participation in electoral matters. The "Voters' Education" phase also lets Tamaraws critically look and research into the set of electoral candidates' campaigns.

3. PHASE 3: ACCOUNTABILITY TO VOTERS - The third phase of the campaign is focused on the accountability of the elected officials of our country. This phase shall enable Tamaraws to look into officials' transparency updates and legislation. The FEU TAMang Boto is structured as such so that the practice of voters’ thinking is continuous.

Matapos ang panahon ng kampanya, mahalagang suriin kung paano naisasalin sa aksyon ang mga pangako at platapormang inilatag ng ating mga senador. Sa likod ng bawat pahayag, polisiya, at legislative effort ay mga desisyong may direktang epekto sa buhay ng bawat Pilipino.

Sa buwang ito ng AccounTAMBulletin, masusing tinitingnan ang campaign promises, legislative progress, at policy priorities ng ating mga pinuno upang mas maunawaan kung paano nagsisimulang maisalin ang mga pangako tungo sa konkretong aksyon at pananagutan.

Ang pagiging mulat at mapanuri ay hindi natatapos sa halalan. Mahalaga ang patuloy na pagsusuri upang mapanatili ang transparency at responsableng pamamahala.

In line with voter registration, β€œsapat na nga ba ang pagiging bokal sa midya at online na diskurso?” Sharing opinions, calling out issues, and joining trending discussions on social media are great, but the true power of our voice is measured when it is finally cast on a ballot.

Being a passive citizen will not take us far, and the clamor in the comment section loses its meaning if we are muted on election day just because we failed to register. True civic involvement begins with registration; it is our first step toward demanding the leadership and future that our communities deserve. Let’s not pass up the opportunity to represent the topics that are most important to young people. Get registered and take action, because knowing the right information is the first step toward casting the right vote!

For fellow Tamaraws who still have doubts or hesitations about voter registration, it is important to challenge the misconceptions that continue to discourage participation. Questions about requirements, eligibility, and the registration process should not stand in the way of civic engagement.

Voter registration is more than a requirement. It is the first step toward having a voice in issues that directly affect students and young Filipinos, from transportation costs and job opportunities to healthcare, education, and other social concerns.

Being informed allows citizens to participate more meaningfully in shaping policies and holding leaders accountable. A few minutes spent registering can create an impact that lasts far beyond Election Day.
