The Philippine National Historical Society joins the nation in mourning the passing of National Artist for Literature, Resil B. Mojares. He was not only a prolific writer but a giant in Philippine national historical studies and historiography. The PNHS extends its condolences to his family, the Visayan history and literary community, and the Filipino people as a whole.

This picture was taken in one of the initial meetings of the Presidential Commission for Culture and the Arts (PCCA) held from July 2-5, 1987, at the Makiling Conference Center, National Arts Center in Los Baños, Laguna. Not in this photo was Heidi Gloria. The PCCA is the forerunner of today’s NCCA.
