The Comm.pendium is a student-led organization of AB Communication major students of National University-Manila, which centers itself on being a potential agent of change through communication, media literacy, research-oriented contents on trends that are emergent in both fields of communication and media, to establish an avenue for new generation of communicators to harness their potential to the

optimum level. The purpose of this is to uphold the very essence of effective communication through content-creation and to provide an alleyway for Communication major students to showcase the practice of their best interests in the field and their program while sternly conforming to the policies of the university. This organization, in its purpose, should be seen as a good example of social circle that promotes good leadership skills, self-development, effective communication, demonstration of professional and ethical considerations of communication, and formulate and impose projects that are necessary for the betterment of all of its members and the audience.

“𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙚, 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙬𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙.”🗣️🌐

Last August 14, National University held “Verify & Amplify,” an event that reminded students that the things they do every day—from taking photos and consuming information to using AI, voting, and engaging on social media—can create an impact beyond themselves.

Through the sessions of Mr. Jimmy Domingo, Ms. Joyce Babe Pañeras, Ms. Maria Teresa Bacella, and Mr. Erelson Cabatbat, the students learned to look beyond what is simply shown to them. They explored how photography can communicate stories, how to recognize misinformation and use AI ethically, how responsible voters can protect themselves from disinformation, and how social media can be used to create positive change. More than gaining information, the event encouraged the students to think critically about what they see, believe, and share.

Verify before you believe. Think before you share. Use your voice for good. Because whether online or offline, even the smallest action can affect someone else—and society as a whole. 📣✨

UNITY STATEMENT

In light of the prevailing weather conditions, the CEAS Student Council (CEASSC), together with the CEAS Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs), calls for the full suspension of classes tomorrow, August 18, 2026, rather than shifting to Remote Synchronize Learning (RSL).

This is a collective call for the safety and welfare of every student, faculty member, and staff. No academic requirement should come before the well-being of our community.

We urge the NU Administration to hear the concerns of the CEAS community and reconsider the current arrangement.

In accordance with the recommendation of the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Department, all face-to-face classes in NU Manila will shift to Remote Synchronous Learning (RSL) tomorrow, August 18. This suspension is due to the continuous heavy rainfall brought by Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

Students are advised to stay indoors and keep themselves updated on the latest weather advisories. For more announcements and updates, please stay tuned to our official social media pages.

Naging tampok sa Bulwagang Multipurpose noong ika-12 ng Agosto 2026 ang makabuluhang talakayan sa pagpapayaman ng kaalaman at kultura na pinangunahan ng Departamento ng Sining at Wika ng NU Institute of General Education.

Sa pangunguna ni Atty. Marites Barrios-Taran, tinalakay ang mahalagang papel ng pambansang wika sa pananaliksik at ang potensiyal ng Artificial Intelligence (AI) bilang katuwang sa pagpapalawak ng kamalayang Pilipino. Sa pamamagitan ng programang isinagawa, mas naunawaan ng komunidad ng National University Manila na ang teknolohiya at wika ay hindi magkasangga kundi maaari itong magtulungan upang iangat ang antas ng pagkatuto at pananaliksik nang hindi nawawala ang ating sariling pagkakakilanlan.

Patuloy nating pag-isahin ang wika, teknolohiya, mga makabagong ideya, at karunungan para sa isang mas makabuluhang pagkatuto at pananaliksik. 👩🏻‍💻✨

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 🌏✨

Kapulungan 2026 brought the NU international community together through a day of connection, recognition, and celebration. From the rollout of the NU Bukluran Program and the introduction of Ka-ISA-NU to the recognition of academic achievers and the meaningful insights of “Hugpungan 2026,” every moment reflected the value of coming together.

As the Lunch of Nations gave way to “Durungawan 2026: A Window to the World,” cultures took center stage through vibrant performances by the NU Dance Company Cultural Team, NU International Students, and guests from Universitas Negeri Semarang. Each performance became a window into traditions, stories, and identities beyond our own.

The day wrapped up with “Pamatnubayan: Embarking on the NU Journey,” a meaningful reminder that no matter where we come from, we are building our future together as one community. 💙💛
