Last August 14, National University held โVerify & Amplify,โ an event that reminded students that the things they do every dayโfrom taking photos and consuming information to using AI, voting, and engaging on social mediaโcan create an impact beyond themselves.
Through the sessions of Mr. Jimmy Domingo, Ms. Joyce Babe Paรฑeras, Ms. Maria Teresa Bacella, and Mr. Erelson Cabatbat, the students learned to look beyond what is simply shown to them. They explored how photography can communicate stories, how to recognize misinformation and use AI ethically, how responsible voters can protect themselves from disinformation, and how social media can be used to create positive change. More than gaining information, the event encouraged the students to think critically about what they see, believe, and share.
Verify before you believe. Think before you share. Use your voice for good. Because whether online or offline, even the smallest action can affect someone elseโand society as a whole. ๐ฃโจ
