Only one ranger protects 4,000 hectares of protected area, on average, in the Philippines. That's why we must applaud and support our rangers who are doing the risky and difficult work for our shared future. At Masungi, we have an average of one ranger per thirty hectares of the conservation area, helping augment government resources in conservation and educating Filipinos from all walks of life.
Attention, friends! Many of our neighbors have been devastated by the recent typhoon, and they desperately need our help. As an Earist Drrm volunteer, I'm rallying the community to come together and support those affected.
We're collecting donations of essential supplies, from clean water and nonperishable food to clothing and hygiene items. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a big difference in the lives of those struggling to recover.
If you're able, please consider donating what you can. Together, we can provide crucial aid and comfort to those in need during this difficult time. Let's show our community the true power of compassion.
Your donation could be the lifeline someone is counting on. Please, join me in making a real impact. Every bit helps. Thank you for your generosity!

When faced with the threat of flooding due to typhoons, preparation and vigilance are key to ensuring safety.
Before the storm, gather essential supplies, secure your property, and stay updated with weather forecasts and evacuation plans.
During the flood, prioritize safety by avoiding floodwaters and adhering to evacuation orders.
After the flood, be cautious when returning home, watch for hazards like unstable structures and contaminated water, and seek assistance for recovery and rebuilding efforts.
Remembering these crucial steps can significantly reduce risks and aid in a quicker, safer recovery.
Here are more comprehensive and specific measures that may help us provide safety not just for ourselves but also for the people we love.

STAY SAFE AND DRY, EVERYONE!
Prioritizing safety and readiness is crucial as the rainy season draws near. To avoid slipping, always have an umbrella with you and wear the proper shoes. On rainy and slippery roads, exercise caution; slow down and keep a safe distance from other cars. Stay away from flooded regions and never try to drive through water. Pay attention to any cautions or warnings and keep up with weather forecasts. Together, let's follow these simple measures to make sure we keep dry and safe. Your well-being matters!
During this period, remember to keep your pets safe. Ensure they are provided with a dry, cozy shelter that is protected from the rain. Make sure they have access to clean drinking water and keep them indoors during prolonged downpours. Check for any potential hazards like exposed wires or standing water in your yard. A little extra care can go a long way in keeping your furry friends safe and healthy.๐ง๏ธ

As Filipinos, it is our duty to commemorate April 9th which is designated as the Day of Valor to honor the valor and sacrifice made by American and Filipino soldiers in World War II, especially during the defense of the Bataan Peninsula and the ensuing Bataan Death March.
It commemorates the Japanese forces' 1942 capture of Bataan, which resulted in the notorious forced march of the prisoners of war. This day celebrates the bravery and tenacity of those who battled and lost their lives in defense of our country, signifying the steadfast spirit of liberty and nationalism.
LOOK HERE! A TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE ๐คฏ
Did you know that a total solar eclipse happens when the moon completely obscures the sun's visible disk and casts a shadow on Earth?
As a result, the sky briefly grows darker as the moon fully obscures the sun, exposing the solar corona, the sun's outer atmosphere. Observers who are lucky enough to be within the restricted line of totality are captivated by these uncommon and breathtaking celestial events.
Unfortunately, our country isn't on its "totality path" - the region where eclipses are visible to the naked eye. But stay tune because partial eclipse may be visible most especially on areas with lesser pollution.
It's expected to be distinctly visible from parts of North America, including Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The path of totality will stretch from the Pacific coast of Mexico, through the United States, and into eastern Canada.
โ ๏ธ Recall that direct solar eclipse watching without appropriate eye protection might result in irreversible eye damage. To ensure safe viewing, it is advised to use pinhole projectors or specialized solar viewing glasses, as well as various techniques we can make at home using materials such as radiology filmscreens and more.
You can also visit a couple of eclipse viewing sites available on the internet.
HAPPY VIEWING, EARISTIANS!
๐กTOGETHER FOR EARTH HOUR! ๐ก
๐ Tomorrow, Saturday, MARCH 23, 2024
โฐ 8:30 PM - 9:30 PM PST
Get ready to turn off your light switches EARISTians, because the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) - the organization behind the worldwide environmental movement known as Earth Hour encourages people to switch off lights and electrical appliances for at least an hour, in homes, companies, and communities.
The purpose of the event is to increase public awareness of climate change and to encourage sustainable measures that lower energy use and carbon emissions.
Remember that our little contributions as students relay a bigger impact as we promote awareness, raise events, save energy and opt out for sustainability as a whole educates our society to support the green movement and lead by example too!

Pi, or the Greek word letter ฯ is a mathematical constant equaling the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.
But did you know that to date, over 31 trillion decimal digits of pi have been discovered? In 2019, a woman named Emma Haruka Iwao and her team calculated 31,415,926,535,897 digits of pi - the most accurate value of pi thus far.
And just as the value of pi can go on forever, so does our endless support and determination for the promotion, development, and acceleration of S&T in the country.
Happy Pi Day!
