Believest thou this?’ Christ here looks forward to the time of His second coming. Then the righteous dead shall be raised incorruptible, and the living righteous shall be translated to heaven without seeing death.

The miracle which Christ was about to perform, in raising Lazarus from the dead, would represent the resurrection of all the righteous dead.”—DA530.

🇵🇭 #08 [Aug 20 THU] Final Victory Over Death

Death is not the end for those who belong to Christ. In the resurrection, the corruptible will put on incorruption, the mortal will put on immortality, and death itself will be swallowed up in victory. For the believer, the next conscious moment after death is the glorious return of Jesus. Our hope is not in escaping death, but in Christ’s final victory over it.

Good evening! 🇵🇭 🇵🇭 🇵🇭

The promise of resurrection gives hope when we face physical weakness and limitations today. Our present bodies may deteriorate, but they are not our final condition. In Christ, God promises a future body that is imperishable, powerful, glorious, and free from decay and death.

#08 [Aug 19 WED] The Resurrected Body

“How are the dead raised, and with what body?”

A seed: Like a seed that is planted and transformed into a completely different-looking plant, the resurrection is a miraculous transformation by God.

Different kinds of bodies: God has already designed different bodies suited to different environments. Likewise, our resurrected bodies will be suited for the heavenly world.

Glory: The resurrected body will be far more glorious than our present earthly body.

Contrasts of our present bodies with our resurrected bodies:

Earthly → Heavenly
Perishable → Imperishable
Weak → Powerful
Natural → Spiritual

“Spiritual” does not mean we become invisible or immaterial. We will have real bodies, but bodies transformed to be like Christ’s glorious body—no longer subject to sickness, decay, weakness, or death.

There is therefore both continuity and transformation: it is still the person who was buried, but the resurrected body is radically changed and perfected.

#08 Christ, the First fruits [Aug 18 TUE]

🙏LESSON 08 of 13 (Aug. 15–21))

1. What does it mean that Jesus is the “firstfruits”?

“Firstfruits” means Jesus’ resurrection is the first and guaranteeing example of the resurrection that will happen to His people.

In the biblical harvest picture, the firstfruits were the first portion of the harvest, giving assurance that the rest of the harvest would follow. Likewise:

Christ was raised first - bodily and permanently.

Those who belong to Christ will also be raised at His Second Coming (1 Cor. 15:20–23).

Therefore, His resurrection is not merely an isolated miracle; it guarantees the future resurrection of believers.

Christ, as the “last Adam,” reverses what the first Adam brought through sin and death. Adam brought death; Christ brings resurrection and life (1 Cor. 15:22, 45).

So, simply: Jesus is the “firstfruits” because His resurrection is the beginning and guarantee of the resurrection harvest of all who belong to Him.

2. How could Paul be so sure about the future? How can we?

Paul could be confident because his faith was based on a living Person and a demonstrated promise—not wishful thinking. In 2 Timothy 1:12, Paul says he knows whom he has believed and is convinced that Christ is able to keep what Paul has entrusted to Him.

We can have the same confidence because:

Christ died → Christ was resurrected → Christ lives → therefore His promise to resurrect His followers can be trusted.

Read 1 Corinthians 15:9–19. What do we lose if Christ has not been raised?

How does one make sense of 1 Corinthians 15 if the dead soar off to heaven (or to hell) immediately? Why, then, is understanding that the dead sleep such an important teaching?

Paul’s argument is simple: if Christ was not raised from the dead, then Christianity has no foundation. Our preaching would be empty, our faith would be useless, we would still be in our sins, our testimony would be false, and those who died in Christ would have no hope.

But Christ has been raised—and there were many eyewitnesses who saw Him. Therefore, our faith is not a delusion, our sins can be forgiven, our preaching has purpose, and the resurrection gives us real hope beyond death.

Proclaiming the Resurrection of Christ
[Aug 16 SUN PM]

Paul begins by reminding the Corinthians that the gospel is something they received, believed, stood in, and were being saved by, and at its heart is the death and resurrection of Christ “according to the Scriptures” (1 Cor. 15:1–4).

What do 1 Corinthians 15:1–4, Luke 24:44–47, and Romans 1:1–4 have in common?
They all show that Christ’s death and resurrection were not unexpected events but the fulfillment of God’s revealed plan and the foundation of the gospel.

Why are believing and preaching placed together in 1 Corinthians 15:2, 11?
Because we cannot faithfully proclaim the resurrection as our hope unless we ourselves believe it; the message we preach must first be the truth we trust.

What reasons do we have for believing Christ’s resurrection, even though we did not personally see it?
We have the testimony of Scripture, the numerous eyewitnesses who saw the risen Christ—including people still living when Paul wrote—and the transformed lives and fearless preaching of those witnesses; likewise, we accept many realities we have never personally seen because of reliable testimony and evidence, and the resurrection calls us to place our faith in the trustworthy testimony God has given.

LESSON 8 *August 15–21
The Power of Christ’s Resurrection

This week continues the great biblical story of the conflict between sin and God’s plan of salvation. The previous lessons have traced the entrance of sin, its devastating consequences, and God’s continuing work to restore humanity. Now the focus moves to the event that gives the entire plan of salvation its power and hope: the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Paul makes the issue absolute: “And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.” The Cross cannot be separated from the empty tomb. If Christ remained in the grave, sin would still have the final word, our faith would be futile, and death would remain our destiny. But Christ is risen. His resurrection declares that His sacrifice was accepted, that death has been conquered, that salvation is real, and that those who belong to Him will also be raised.

Thus, Lesson 8 takes us from Christ’s victory over sin at the Cross to Christ’s victory over death at the resurrection. The resurrection is not merely something that happened to Jesus—it is the foundation of the Christian hope. Aug 13 THURS Faith, Hope, and Love
(😇A Portrait of Love 🙏LESSON 07 of 13 (Aug. 8–14))

Faith, Hope, and Love:

👉Jesus is the model of love, and we are called to imitate His character.

👉The Corinthian church struggled with envy, pride, boasting, rudeness, selfishness, easily becoming offended, and focusing on others' faults.

👉Paul reminds us that spiritual gifts are temporary, because they serve a purpose that will eventually be fulfilled.

👉Love is eternal — unlike prophecy and partial knowledge, love will never cease.

👉When Jesus returns, faith will become sight, and hope will become reality.

👉Faith and hope will continue to have meaning in eternity, but love is greatest because love describes the very character of God.

👉“God is love” (1 John 4:8) means that love is not merely something God does; it is central to who God is and how He relates to His creation.

👉Jesus gives us the clearest picture of God's love through His sacrifice, forgiveness, patience, kindness, and selfless service.

“God is love” means that God's character is fundamentally selfless, faithful, compassionate, and sacrificial. We understand this love most clearly through Jesus, who gave Himself for sinners and continued to love even those who rejected Him.

We can never fully comprehend the depth of God's love, but it is good news because it means that the God who created and judges us is also the God who seeks our salvation, forgives us, stays faithful to us, and desires our eternal good. His love gives us hope that we are not abandoned and that His ultimate purpose for us is life with Him forever.

“A Portrait of Jesus”

(😇A Portrait of Love 🙏LESSON 07 of 13 (Aug. 8–14))

Jesus is the perfect example of love. 1 Corinthians 13 describes the kind of love Jesus showed perfectly.

Jesus is patient - He endured sinners, rejection, suffering, and opposition.

Jesus is kind - He cared for people, especially those who were hurting or rejected.

Jesus loves the truth - He taught truth clearly and lived according to His Father’s will.

Jesus bears all things -He endured the cross and suffering because of His love for us.

Jesus believes in people - He saw not only what people were, but what they could become through God’s power.

Jesus was humble - He did not seek honor or make Himself greater than others.

Jesus forgave - Even while being crucified, He asked the Father to forgive His enemies.

Jesus did not seek revenge - He responded to mistreatment with patience and self-control.

True love is shown through actions, not merely words.

If we want to understand love, we should look at Jesus and follow His example.

Gratitude is also part of love - we should recognize and thank God even for the small blessings we often overlook.
