Today, August 21st, we honor the life and sacrifice of former senator 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨 "𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲" 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨, a key figure in the fight for democracy in the Philippines. His commitment to the truth and justice, and more so in our democracy had made a lasting legacy and effect on the history of our very own nation. He was best known for his resistance to the Marcos regime of dictatorship. Ninoy's unwavering courage and belief that "𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫" inspired the very movement that led us to the restoration of our democratic values and freedom.

His legacy continues to remind every Filipino of the power of peaceful resistance and the importance of defending our press freedom. This day is not just another holiday, but a gentle reminder to fight for our rights and uphold the same principles that he once held and fought for.
