Children's Paradise Montessori School

Children's Paradise Montessori School MONTESSORI SCHOOL OF THE YEAR & MOST TRUSTED MONTESSORI SCHOOL in Metro Cebu since 2010 until today! CPMS exists because WE LOVE and VALUE CHILDREN!

Enroll now and set your child for success by choosing the Montessori Education through Children’s Paradise Montessori School! Children’s Paradise Montessori School (CPMS) was founded in 2005 with the mission of providing education for life to children. We have created a learning environment based on Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy and principles that guide and nurture the development of each chi

ld’s potential to become an informed, a creative, compassionate, and lifelong learner, who will make a positive contribution to the global community. CPMS is the 1st Strengths-Based School in the Philippines. It is an authentic Montessori School located at H. Abellana St., Canduman, Mandaue City and has been the MONTESSORI SCHOOL OF THE YEAR in Metro Cebu since 2010 and for 10 straight years now. Such recognition from the Business Achievement and Recognition Awards Council is for the integrity that CPMS has kept providing quality and true Montessori education since 2006. The school has also been awarded as the MOST TRUSTED MONTESSORI SCHOOL in Metro Cebu since 2011. Internationally, CPMS brought two gold awards from the 28th Australian International Music Festival (AIMF) in 2017 as a delegation of students, teachers, parents, and consultants represented the Philippines for the 1st time in such a prestigious and long-running educational, collaborative, and creative festival joined by more than 10 countries all over the world. Prior to this, the CPM Choir led by Maestro Dennis Gregory Sugarol, a world-renowned musical director and artist, won its first international awards, a gold and a silver, from the 2nd Asia Cantate International Choir Festival in Hong Kong in 2014. Indeed, this is a real paradise for children where everyone is nurtured and each one’s uniqueness is celebrated, where strengths are focused and weaknesses are managed, where it is always okay to make mistakes and learn from them, and where every child’s potential is optimized to bring out the best in him/her in order to become the best version of himself/herself.

Ninoy’s life reminds us that true courage is standing for what is right, even when it is difficult. His legacy inspires us to raise children who will grow up with integrity, respect for others, love for country, and the courage to make a difference.

At CPMS, we believe that education is not only about developing capable minds, but also about nurturing kind, courageous, responsible, and compassionate individuals who can make a meaningful difference in the world.

WHY WE HAD TO STOP SPEAKING ENGLISH AT HOME

Here’s my "nakakahiya" realization…

I’ll never forget the day my kid smoothly explained the entire solar system in perfect English, but stared blankly when the taho vendor asked, "Ilan, ine?" Literal na foreigner sa sariling bansa. I wanted to hide under the pavement.

I realized my kid could negotiate for extra iPad time like a corporate lawyer in English, but couldn't confidently buy pandesal at the corner bakery. We had an English-only household before because I thought it was the best thing for their future. I was wrong.

The Myth vs. The Hard Truth
❌ The Myth: An English-only household makes your kid "elite," highly educated, and globally competitive.

✅ The Truth: Business talk, Inay. It isolates them. Being globally competitive is completely useless if your child lacks the street smarts to survive their own barangay or converse with their kasambahay and grandparents. English is a tool; your mother tongue is your identity.

In the Philippines, speaking straight English is a silent middle-class flex. We buy imported curricula and let them binge English YouTube channels. Ang ending? We raise kids with perfect twangs who are entirely disconnected from their own culture. Sayang ang talino kung walang diskarte.

The Bibong Pinay Action Steps Here is how you decolonize your homeschool and bring their Filipino roots back:

📍Stop the Translation Crutch: Do not be their personal Google Translate. If they ask for water in English, answer back in Tagalog (or Bisaya!). Sanayin ang tenga nila araw-araw.

📍Read Tagalog "Living Books": Ditch the boring textbooks. Immerse them in beautiful, high-quality local stories. Add these to your shelf immediately:
📖 Alamat ng Ampalaya (Adarna House) – Top-tier for teaching values (and eating veggies).
📖 Hating Kapatid (Raissa Rivera Falgui) – A classic, relatable story about sharing.
📖 Kaya ni Pastol (OMF Lit) – Beautiful, heartfelt, and highly engaging.
📖 Karapat-Dapat (May Tobias-Papa) – Empowering and beautifully illustrated.
📖 Force Real-World Interactions: The dining table is not the real world. Make them hand the fare to the jeepney driver. Make them ask the waiter for extra ketchup.

📍Start Them Young (The PreK/Kinder Hack): Wag nang hintayin maging conyo bago turuan. If you have little ones, you need a solid foundation.

Grab our Halina't Magbasa resource, specifically designed to make Tagalog reading easy for PreK and Kinder students. You can get it right now in our e-commerce store.

Comment 👉🏻 HMBS to avail!

You are raising a future Filipino leader, not a tourist. Perfect English grammar will not save them when they need grit, empathy, and cultural connection in the real Pinoy world.

Kayo ba, Inay? Are you struggling to teach your kids Tagalog or your local dialect?

What is the funniest "conyo" moment your kid has ever had outside the house? Drop your stories in the comments!

At Children's Paradise Montessori School, we celebrate role models who embody the values we strive to nurture in every child.

Alex Eala reminds us that true success is not defined by trophies alone, but by discipline, resilience, humility, perseverance, and the courage to keep learning. These are the very qualities that Montessori education seeks to cultivate, children who are independent thinkers, confident learners, and compassionate individuals ready to make a positive impact on the world.

Her journey is a powerful reminder that greatness begins with small, consistent steps, guided by purpose, passion, and unwavering dedication.
