𝐅𝐋𝐔𝐕𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐄 | Within the vibrant tapestry of the Fiesta Señor celebration in Cebu, the Fluvial Parade stands as a unique cultural program. Initiated in the early 1980s, this annual event reenacts the historic arrival of Ferdinand Magellan's expedition in 1521, specifically their landing at Mandaue and the subsequent presentation of the Santo Niño de Cebu image to Rajah Humabon and Queen Juana.

San Agustin notes that Magellan’s expedition “discovered the mouth of the cove of Cebu called Mandaue on 7 April at noon in 1521.” The parade features costumed performers portraying Rajah Humabon, Queen Juana, and Spanish settlers. These figures symbolically reenact the transfer of the Santo Niño by sea from Mandaue to Cebu port.

Occurring on the Saturday preceding the Santo Niño feast day, the Fluvial Parade has evolved into a significant highlight of , drawing parallels between historical and contemporary expressions of faith and cultural identity in Cebu.

Nauna nang idineklara ng Palasyo ang Pebrero 10, 2024 bilang 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 (𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴) 𝗱𝗮𝘆.

Sa isang special (non-working) day, ipatutupad ang “no work, no pay” maliban na lamang kung ang kompanya ay may polisiya o collective bargaining agreement (CBA) na nagbibigay ng sahod para sa nasabing araw.

Samantala, ang empleyado na magtatrabaho sa special (non-working) day ay babayaran ng karagdagang 30 porsiyento ng kanyang arawang sahod sa unang walong oras ng kanyang trabaho, habang ang empleyado na nag-overtime ay makakatanggap ng karagdagang 30 porsiyento ng kanyang orasang kita sa nasabing araw.

: The merger between Robinsons Bank and BPI, with BPI as the surviving entity, took effect on January 1, 2024.

Integration of BPI and Robinsons Bank processes will start in the first quarter of 2024 and is targeted to be completed by the end of 2025.

The Cebu City Treasurer’s Office announced that the processing of Mayor's Business Permit and Issuance of Special permits will start on January 4, 2024.

The deadline for Business Permit renewal application and payment is on January 20, 2024.

Taxpayers are then advised to follow the assigned venues for the north and south districts for the processing and payment of business taxes, fees, and charges.
