CDU International Studies

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

The International Studies Model United Nations 2026 Conference was held at University of San Jose–Recoletos last May 7–8, 2026, bringing together student delegates to engage in discussions, diplomacy, and global collaboration.

The selected International Studies students underwent rigorous preparation and training spearheaded by Ms. Corina Encabo and Mr. Clyde Abelo, with the help and support of the department chair, Mr. Jeffrey Gapol.

The conference served as an avenue for students to strengthen their knowledge in international relations, public speaking, negotiation, and diplomacy while fostering connections with fellow delegates from different institutions. 🌍

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗜𝗦𝗠𝗨𝗡) 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The ISMUN Seminar 2026 was held on April 17, 2026, from 12:00 NN to 5:00 PM at the Recoletos Center for Culture and Arts (RCAC), bringing together passionate students from the University of San Carlos, University of San Jose–Recoletos, and International Studies students of Cebu Doctors’ University.

With distinguished speakers leading the discussions, participants experienced an enriching and insightful program designed to deepen their understanding of Model United Nations and enhance their skills in diplomacy, debate, and academic writing. The seminar fostered collaboration, critical thinking, and global awareness—empowering future diplomats and leaders to engage meaningfully in international affairs. 🌐

𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘁

March 31, 2026 I The International Studies students attended a film screening organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines in partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine in the Philippines. The featured documentary, Unconquered Frames: Ukrainian Documentary, directed by Artem Ryzhykov, powerfully portrays the realities behind the ongoing aggression of Russia against Ukraine.

The event provided a meaningful platform for deeper understanding and reflection, further enriched by a live Zoom session where the director engaged with the audience and answered questions. This experience allowed students to connect academic perspectives with real-world issues, highlighting the human dimension of international conflicts.

𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀.

In a meaningful step toward expanding academic linkages, our Department Chairman, Mr. Jeffrey B. Gapol of Cebu Doctors' University, together with International Studies faculty member Ms. Corina Lorei Encabo, visited the University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R) and were warmly welcomed by Mr. Giovanni Pierro C. Malitao, Jr., Chairman of the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy.

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the International Studies programs of both universities, building on the 2024 friendship agreement between the USJ-R Josenian Diplomats and the CDU International Studies Society.

With partnerships grounded in purpose, we move forward toward greater opportunities and collective growth in the field of International Studies. 🌐

The Social Sciences Department proudly conducted a Courtesy Visit at the Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Office Cebu, engaging in meaningful discussions with Dr. Angel Espiritu Jr., Head of the DFA Consular Office Cebu, for a potential partnership with the Cebu Doctors’ University International Studies (IS) program.

Led by Department Chairman Mr. Jeffrey B. Gapol, together with IS Faculty Members Ms. Abaigail Lawas and Ms. Corina Lorei Encabo, this initiative reflects the department’s continued commitment to fostering academic collaboration, global engagement, and opportunities that empower future diplomats and leaders.
