The 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 actively participated the first day of 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 with the theme, "𝓑𝓾𝓲𝓵𝓭𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓑𝓻𝓲𝓭𝓰𝓮𝓼, 𝓕𝓸𝓻𝓰𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓕𝓾𝓽𝓾𝓻𝓮𝓼: 𝓛𝓮𝓪𝓭𝓮𝓻𝓼 𝓸𝓯 𝓞𝓷𝓮 𝓜𝓒𝓒". Representing UniEd with pride and purpose is our very own, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗘𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘀. 𝗖𝗵𝘆𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗠. The Bachelor of Elementary Education, 3rd Year students participated in the World Vision—Brigada Pagbasa Community Educators Capacity Building with the theme “𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙑𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙨: 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘽𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜,” held on April 9, 2026, at Big Hotel, Mandaue City, Cebu.

This activity aimed to equip future educators with effective strategies in teaching beginning reading and strengthening their role in promoting literacy within the community. Through this training, students gained valuable knowledge, skills, and practical insights that they can apply in real teaching situations.

The presence of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐞𝐲 𝐔. 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞, College Administrator, and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐂. 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐨, Dean of the School of Education, further inspired the participants and showed strong support for the development of aspiring educators.

Indeed, this experience highlights the commitment of BEED students in becoming competent and compassionate teachers, ready to make a difference in the lives of young learners. ✨

More than a showcase of beauty, this event is a tribute to the voices of women who rise, lead, and create change. Through every step on stage and every story shared, we witness the true essence of bravery, strength of heart, clarity of purpose, and compassion for others.

MECHANICS FOR SHEROES

1. The competition is open to all departments. Each department should have a maximum of two (2) female participants only.

2. Each participant shall portray one real Filipino female hero (SHEroe). The list of selected heroes will be provided by the committee, and participants shall randomly draw (bunot) their assigned character. The SHEroe drawn by the participant shall be the character they portray.

3. Each portrayal must include the following:

Costume appropriate to the chosen hero

Short monologue or speech introducing the character

Acting or role-play reflecting the hero's life or contribution

4. Participants must clearly explain why their chosen character is considered a hero during their introduction.

5. Each participant must prepare a presentation with a total duration of 2 minutes only. Participants who will use background music must submit their audio files to the committee in advance.

6. Participants may have co-actors during the role-play portion; however, the main participant must have the majority of the lines and remain the focus of the performance.

7. The costume, performance, and portrayal should accurately reflect the personality, background, and role of the chosen SHEroe. Creativity is encouraged, provided that the portrayal remains respectful, factual, and culturally appropriate.

8. The use of props is allowed, including safe and non-functional replicas only. Real or dangerous objects are strictly prohibited.

9. Portrayals involving fighting must be appropriate and controlled. Offensive or excessive violence is not allowed.

10. Participants must demonstrate confidence, clear communication, and strong stage presence, and must observe proper decorum, professionalism, and good sportsmanship at all times.

11. The judges' decision is final and irrevocable.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

1. Character Portrayal and Understanding — 35%
• Accuracy of the portrayal
• Clear understanding of the hero’s life, role, and impact

2. Creativity and Originality — 20%
• Uniqueness of concept and presentation
• Effective use of ideas and storytelling

3. Costume and Appearance — 15%
• Relevance to the character
• Visual impact and overall presentation

4. Stage Presence and Delivery — 20%
• Confidence and voice clarity
• Facial expression, movement, and audience engagement

5. Overall Impact — 10%
• Inspirational message
• Emotional and educational effect on the audience
