Happy Arbor day!

Arbor Day is a celebration honoring the planting and maintenance of trees. Arbor' is just a short term for arboriculture, meaning the cultivation of trees, among others.Our department chair, Mr. Mark Anthony C. Abella, celebrated Arbor Day! Through planting at the back of the Agroforestry building. DEBESMSCAT, Mandaon, Masbate. native saplings were planted. 3 Nato, 3 Supa, 3 Kupang, 3 Balitbitan, and 3 Anislag.

Arbor Day highlights the value of trees for their positive effects on the environment, the economy, and society. These benefits include better air quality, habitat for wildlife, water conservation, and the improvement of community aesthetics.

With the Theme " kausaban: Empowering the Next Generation for a Transformed Sustainable Future " conducted a BAKHAWAN PLANTING activity and Coastal Clean up on Masbate City on May 4, 2024 With Agroforestry Student Association Adviser Mr. Mark Anthony C. Abella Ph.D Coordinator of the bakhawan planting activity.

The ultimate goal of the Masbate Environmental Youth leader's Summit is to inspire and Equip the next generation of environmental leaders to build a transformed and sustainable future for all.

Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry 3rd Year conducted their Seminar and Workshop On April 26,2024 Under the course Subject Seminar 101.

The DEBESMSCAT College of Agriculture Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry 3rd Year Students, goals and objectives to observe and uphold: “Sustainable Conservation Managements and Measures of Philippine Native Trees in Protected Areas.”

The objectives of this activity is for the Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry 3rd Year students to enhance the knowledge and deepen the understanding about the ecological importance of Native Tree Species to the watershed and to provide useful knowledge and insights about the different Philippine Native Tree Species that specially thrive in wetlands and excellent contributor for soil and water conservation measures.

LOOK: The Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry 2 conducted their Tree Identification activity on April 4, 2024 as a project for Plant Taxonomy around the DEBESMSCAT Main Campus.

The primary aim of this activity is to have information about tree's scientific name, family name, distribution, ecological importance and economic importance. With this everyone will be familiar about the importance of each tree, because we do believe that " Sorrow is knowledge, those that know the most mourn the deepest, the tree of knowledge is not the tree of life -Lord Byron". Let's embark in promoting and mainstreaming our biodiversity for future generations.
