Taking more IELTS Reading practice tests isn't always the answer.
If you're repeatedly getting Band 5.5, 6, or 6.5, the important question isn't just:
“How many did I get right?”

Ask:
Which question types am I consistently missing?
Why did I choose the wrong answer?
Did I miss the evidence?
Did I fall for a distractor?
Did I fail to recognize the paraphrase?

Your mistakes are giving you information. You just need to know how to use it.

Comment “READING” if you're ready to stop practicing randomly and start preparing strategically.

Still getting the same IELTS Reading score despite all the practice tests? 👀

That's one of the biggest problems I see with IELTS students.

They take another test.
They check the score.
They move on to another test.

But they don't stop to ask:

WHY did I get that question wrong?

Was it paraphrasing?
Answer location?
A distractor?
A question-type strategy?
Time management?
Or simply choosing an answer without enough evidence?

Your practice test should give you information you can use to improve.

That's how you turn practice into progress.

Struggling with IELTS Reading Multiple Choice questions? Try this elimination strategy. 🎯

Instead of immediately looking for the answer that sounds right, work backwards.

For each option, ask:

Does the passage support it?

If it's contradicted, eliminate it.

If it's about something else, eliminate it.

If there's no evidence, don't choose it simply because it sounds reasonable.

Then choose from the options that are actually supported by the text.

📌 Save this for your next IELTS Reading practice test.

One difficult question should NEVER cost you 5 minutes in IELTS Reading. ⏱️

You have 60 minutes to answer 40 questions.

So if one question is taking too long and you still can't find convincing evidence, don't let it take your entire exam hostage.

Try:

SKIP → FLAG → MOVE ON → RETURN LATER

You might come back and solve it.

You might not.

But either way, you've protected your time for questions you can answer.

That's an important part of IELTS Reading time management—knowing when to stop searching.

📌 Save this before your next practice test.

IELTS students, consider this your permission slip. 😂☕

Studying longer isn't always the same as studying better.

If you've been staring at the same IELTS Reading passage, rereading paragraphs and making mistakes because you're mentally exhausted, taking another practice test tonight probably isn't the solution.

Take the break. Come back tomorrow.

Then don't just ask:

“How many practice tests can I finish?”

Ask:

“What specific IELTS Reading skill do I need to improve today?”

Because working toward Band 7 isn't about exhausting yourself. It's about practising with purpose.

📌 Send this to the IELTS study buddy who desperately needs permission to close the Cambridge book tonight. 😂

If you're stuck at Band 6 or 6.5 in IELTS Reading, you found the right account. 👋

Especially if you've been:

📚 Taking practice test after practice test

⏱️ Running out of time on Passage 3

🔍 Searching for exact words instead of recognizing paraphrases

😩 Getting the same question types wrong

📉 Wondering why your Reading score isn't moving

I teach IELTS Reading differently.

Instead of telling you to “just practise more,” I help you understand **why you're losing marks and what strategy to use to fix it.

🎯 Because sometimes you don't need another practice test.

You need a system.

Money can't buy Band 7—and no IELTS course should promise that. 😉

But if you're spending hours taking practice test after practice test and you're still stuck at Band 6 or 6.5 in IELTS Reading, investing in a clearer strategy can change how you prepare.

My IELTS Reading Accelerator helps you move away from random practice and build a more systematic approach to paraphrasing, answer location, question types and time management.

Because sometimes you don't need another practice test.

You need a better system. 🎯

6.5. Again. And you need Band 7. 😭

If you've experienced this, you don't need me to explain the feeling.

But before you immediately book another IELTS test and start doing more practice tests, ask yourself:

Why am I losing those marks?

Is it:

⏱️ Time management?

🔍 Missing paraphrases?

📖 A particular question type?

🤔 Overthinking?

❌ Repeating the same mistakes?

Your score tells you where you are.

Your mistakes can tell you what to fix next.

📌 Send this to the IELTS friend who will understand immediately.

And if 6.5 keeps appearing on your Reading results, comment “READING” and I'll send you the link to my IELTS Reading Accelerator so you can prepare more strategically and work toward Band 7.

Yes, you can skip a difficult IELTS Reading question and come back to it. ⏱️

One of the biggest IELTS Reading time-management mistakes is spending several minutes fighting for one answer while easier marks are still waiting.

If you can't find convincing evidence after a reasonable attempt:
SKIP → FLAG → MOVE ON → RETURN LATER
You're not giving up on the question. You're protecting your 60 minutes.

📌 Save this before your next IELTS Reading practice test.

Before booking another IELTS test, fix these 3 IELTS Reading skills first. 🎯

If you're stuck at Band 6 or 6.5, taking another test without changing your strategy may simply repeat the same problems.

Focus on:

1️⃣ Answer location — Can you find where the evidence is quickly?

2️⃣ Paraphrasing — Can you recognize the same idea expressed in different words?

3️⃣ Decision-making — Can you move on when one question is stealing too much time?

Your next practice test shouldn't just tell you your score.

It should tell you what to fix.

📌 Save this before booking your next IELTS exam.
