Throughout September, we celebrated being Filipino by immersing our children in the richness of our traditions, from music and dance, to stories, art, food, and community.
One highlight was our Araw sa Palengke story, where children experienced the joy of the market through play, crafts, and storytelling. They sorted fruits and vegetables, role‑played as vendors and buyers, and discovered everyday Filipino words.
We also journeyed with Luis and the Enchanted Creatures, the gentle nuno sa punso, the towering kapre, the mysterious aswang, the playful tiyanak, and the watchful batibat. Through imagination and play, our children learned that these stories are part of our culture and identity, sparking curiosity rather than fear.
At School House, we believe that knowing our culture and honoring our heritage nurtures identity and a deep sense of belonging. Each experience is a step toward raising grounded learners who carry pride in being Filipino.
