⭐️PMNK Volunteer Story | December 22, 2025⭐️
5 Buwan sa Ating Lupaing Ninuno
(5 Months in our Indigenous Land)

In the past 5 months, 5 Lasallian Volunteers were deployed at Paaralang Mangyan na Angkop sa Kulturang Aalagaan (PAMANA KA) San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. Half way into their journey, they are happily sharing to you/us 5 collective realizations based on their experiences before concluding 2025.

"The experiences are conversations that naturally came out while we were crossing rivers, trekking terrains, relaxing in the staff house, riding a tricycle, drinking our 2nd cup of coffee, or biting through a Mang Inasal chicken for a much deserved weekend community gathering." 🤩

The Philippine Coalition on Volunteerism (PhilCV), with support from the Association of Foundations (AF) and TELUS Digital Philippines, invites all volunteers, volunteer groups, and organizations to join the official launch of the International Volunteer Year (IVY) 2026 Call to Action happening on December 5, 2025 (Friday), 2:30–4:00 PM, hybrid via Google Meet.

In partnership with the International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE), this event amplifies the global call to strengthen the enabling environment for and empower volunteers to drive sustainable development.

👥 Onsite attendance is by invitation, but everyone is welcome to join us online!

Iti Barrio ti Occidental Mindoro (Sa Barrio ng Occidental Mindoro) ni Kuya Brixster Bacao (PMNK Volunteer)

Bilang paggunita ng buwan ng mga katutubo at ang araw ng mga g**o, ibabahagi ng ating mga volunteers ang kanilang mga karanasan at pagninilay bilang kasapi ng komunidad ng mga Mangyan.

Sa kwentong ito, ibinahagi ni Kuya Brix sa salitang Ilokano ang isang napapanahong pagninilay sa buwan ng sagradong Rosaryo. Naka ukit sa kanyang karanasan bilang volunteer teacher sa PAMANA KA ang simbolo at gabay na naibibigay ng pagdarasal ng Rosaryo.

Tiyon Kang Lugta (Himig ng Lupaing Ninuno) ni Ate Rucenet Zabanal (PMNK Volunteer)

Bilang paggunita ng buwan ng mga katutubo at ang araw ng mga g**o, ibabahagi ng ating mga volunteers ang kanilang mga karanasan at pagninilay bilang kasapi ng komunidad ng mga Mangyan.

Sa kwentong ito, ibinahagi ni Ate Rucenet sa salitang Hanunuo-Ratagnon ang kanyang pagninilay sa kanyang pagbabalik sa lupaing ninuno. Wika niya, "Ang Lupaing Ninuno ang buhay ng mga katutubong Mangyan. Napakahalaga nito sa amin dahil dito nakaugat ang aming kultura, paniniwala at buhay. Kaya dapat lang ay patuloy na alagaan at ingatan dahil hindi lamang ito magiging tahanan bagkus magiging pandayan din ito ng karunungan ng mga kabataang Mangyan."

Nyawa... (Kahit Na...) ni Ate Zyra No-oy (PMNK Volunteer)

Bilang paggunita ng buwan ng mga katutubo at ang araw ng mga g**o, ibabahagi ng ating mga volunteers ang kanilang mga karanasan at pagninilay bilang kasapi ng komunidad ng mga Mangyan.

Sa kwentong ito, ibinahagi ni Ate Zyra sa salitang Buhid ang kaniyang paglalakbay bilang volunteer teacher sa PAMANA KA. Ala 1 ng hapon, babagsak na ang ulan, at hindi pa alam kung makakatawid pa ba sa ilog. Ngunit patuloy ang mahigit kumulang 2 oras na paglalakad pabalik. "Nyawa", may naghihintay pa, may dalang isang notebook at nakapaa.
