As our beloved Treasurer, we hope your special day brings you nothing but joy, laughter, and wonderful moments with the people you love. Your dedication to managing our funds and financial matters โ€” even without the assistance of an Auditor (yet!) โ€” truly reflects your commitment to serving the council. Beyond your role, we hope you continue to be the kind, caring, and dedicated person that you are. May you always carry that warmth and sincerity with you as you continue to grow and make a difference in the people around you.

May this year bring you more happiness, opportunities, and unforgettable memories. Wishing you a birthday filled with laughter, love, and all the things that make you happiest!

Another new member celebrating this September, and today is your day, Benigno! As one of our newest members of the SHSC Ethics Committee, your courage to speak up when something is not right and your willingness to stand up for what you believe in shows the kind of leader you are. Above all, your lively personality and understanding nature makes you someone others can rely on.

Democracy. It is often a word used to describe how power belongs to a nationโ€™s citizens. Derived from the Greek words โ€œ๐๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ฌ,โ€ meaning people, and โ€œ๐ค๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐จ๐ฌ,โ€ meaning rule, together it means โ€œ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ž ๐›๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฉ๐ž๐จ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž.โ€

But democracy is not merely a fancy word that tells us we have power as citizens. It is a call to action โ€” a reminder, that ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™ฅ๐™ค๐™ฌ๐™š๐™ง ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™ช๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™™ ๐™ฉ๐™ค ๐™ช๐™จ ๐™˜๐™ค๐™ข๐™š๐™จ ๐™ฌ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ ๐™ง๐™š๐™จ๐™ฅ๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™จ๐™ž๐™—๐™ž๐™ก๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ฎ. It calls on each of us to use our voices, exercise our rights, and take part in shaping the future of our nation.
