A Historic Repeat!
History was made once again as Justin Sumagpang, a sixth-grade student from Highway Hills Integrated School (HHIS), was acclaimed as the Philippines' Best News Anchor at the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) at Ormoc City, Leyte.

This is a rare and historic feat, as Sumagpang earned the same national title as a fourth-grader during NSPC 2024 in Carcar City, Cebu.

The victory was part of a dominant performance by TeaManda, who secured major awards in the Radio Broadcasting category:

The team was also supported by fourth-grader Matthew Jules Soledad, who served as the team's Floor Director.

History in the Making

Miranda clinches Outstanding Campus Journalist title at NSPC '26

John Jiro Miranda has officially cemented his legacy after being awarded as the NCR's Outstanding Campus Journalist Elementary at the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) in Ormoc City,Leyte.

Miranda’s victory marks a historic milestone for Highway Hills Integrated School (HHIS), as he becomes the fourth campus journalist in the school’s history to receive this prestigious national award.

The achievement was reached under the guidance of the coach Maria Rossel C. Lao and leadership of the PSDS in-charge in Journalism of SDO Mandaluyong Mr. Anthony Augusto M. Garcia for the different programs and activities that develops the journalistic prowess of young scribes.

Our sincere gratitude to the school principal Dr. Efren S. Consemino for his fatherly guidance and unwavering support of the Special Program in Journalism (SPJ). We also share this success with the entire HHIS Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff, whose hard work and teamwork helped make this achievement possible.

The school would also like to thank SDO Mandaluyong's top management headed by the schools division superintendent Dr. Margarito B. Materum, ASDS Dr. Aurelio G. Alfonso, SGOD chief Dr. Rex A. Ado and CID chief Dr. Alyn G. Mendoza, and the city government of Mandaluyong under the leadership of Mayor Carmelita Abalos for their genuine leadership and support in the campus journalism activities of the division.

This win continues the long-standing tradition of journalistic excellence at HHIS and brings pride to the entire city of Mandaluyong.
