Held on June 24, 2024, at the Mandaluyong City College of Science and Technology, the event featured participation from various organizations and institutions, including RTC NCR, NATSA, TESDA, PROBot, eCloud Valley, Go Negosyo, and GIST.
The event was graced by notable figures such as First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, DILG Secretary Hon. Benhur Abalos, TESDA Director General Sec. Suharto T. Mangudadatu, TESDA Deputy Director DDG Vidal Villanueva III, PMMS District Director Dir. Maria Gerty Pagaran, and officers from NATSA and TVSA. The program began at 8:00 AM, featuring a range of activities from various TVET institutions across NCR.

They served mocktail drinks to 300 attendees, under the guidance of GIST's exceptional trainers, Mrs. Mary Anne Coper and Mr. John Rudolf Tolentino.
The event concluded with an acknowledgment of participants and exhibitors. GIST President Mr. Jose O. Montenegro gratefully received an award on behalf of the institution. This participation not only allowed GIST students to demonstrate their skills but also highlighted the institution's commitment to supporting government initiatives aimed at building a stronger future for the Philippines.

Embodying Social Responsibility: Successful Bloodletting Event at GIST Mandaluyong Campus
The annual Bloodletting Activity was held on May 8, 2024, at the GIST Mandaluyong Campus in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross. The long queue of donors in the activity area, situated on the 2nd floor, exemplified one of GIST’s core values, “Social Responsibility,” reflecting the community’s commitment to caring for others and the environment.
The event began at 9:00 AM and saw participation from GIST parents, students, faculty, and staff. The area was bustling with volunteers eager to donate life-saving blood. Among them were first-time donors, including some senior high school students who obtained parental consent to demonstrate their social responsibility. There were also experienced donors who, undeterred by the pain of the needle or the aftereffects of blood donation, showed their unwavering commitment. However, not all faces were joyful; some were disheartened after being disqualified by volunteer doctors and nurses due to reasons such as being underweight or having other medical conditions. Despite this, many disqualified donors brought along friends and family members to donate in their place, embodying the true GISTian spirit of doing whatever it takes to serve humanity.
Throughout the day, the atmosphere was one of camaraderie and mutual support. Volunteers and staff worked seamlessly to ensure the smooth running of the event, providing refreshments and moral support to donors. The presence of the Philippine Red Cross added an extra layer of professionalism and safety, ensuring that all medical protocols were strictly followed.
The Bloodletting Activity concluded at 6:00 PM with 114 registered donors and 101 successful donations. The success of the event was due to the collaborative efforts of the GIST Mandaluyong Campus faculty and staff, under the supervision of Campus Head, Ms. Donna V. Remitar. The meticulous planning and organization were evident as donors moved efficiently through the registration, screening, and donation process.
Reflecting on the day's success, Ms. Remitar expressed her gratitude to all participants and volunteers. "The overwhelming response from our community highlights the strong sense of social responsibility at GIST. It is heartening to see so many people come together for a cause that truly makes a difference," she said.
Donors left the venue with happy hearts, knowing their contributions would bring blessings to others. This year’s theme, “The Gift of Life: Donate Blood, Save Life,” resonated throughout the day, highlighting the profound impact of their generosity. The event not only provided a critical resource for those in needs but also reinforced the values of empathy and community service that are central to GIST's mission.
