The other day, I blurted out something in a TONE I recognized all too well. “Ohh, that’s where she gets it from,” I said - a bit surprised (but not really).
Yes, the snarky comeback I usually notice in my daughter was coming from me. 😬
👋🏻 Hi, it’s me. I’m the problem. It’s me.
It's not enough to say we want kids who are regulated and able to manage themselves.
👉 We have to be the model we want them to emulate.
But remember, . We all had a good laugh, and I got to take responsibility for my actions.

Learning doesn’t only happen in a classroom or at a desk.
Everything that your child does, especially when they choose it themselves, is a natural learning experience.
When they’re mixing things in the kitchen, imagining with friends, drawing chalk pictures, or playing Minecraft, watching YouTube, playing sports, or even just resting and practicing self-care…. Learning is happening!
When you try to dictate what your child learns by insisting on activity completion or setting a time limit, you’re not only taking the joy out of what could be a good learning experience, you’re interrupting what would otherwise be a valuable opportunity to make their own choices about how to spend their time. ⏰ 🎉

When you build in even five minutes to connect with your child(ren) every morning, it actually makes transitions to other activities EASIER. Play, read, snuggle...do whatever speaks to their heart.
