The magic of week one is found in the little moments. 🌟

With smaller groups, shorter schedules, and plenty of time to settle in, children are given a gentle start to the school year. As they build new friendships and grow comfortable in their new environment, they begin to feel safe, confident, and ready to explore. 🧡

Our final field site visit during teacher training week was at Museo del Galeón.

Learning about the Galleon Trade reminded us that every story is connected to many others. The more we learn, the better we can help children connect ideas, make sense of the world, and find meaning in every experience.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these that deepen our understanding and inspire the learning experiences we’ll create for children in the year ahead.

Learning as teachers means staying curious.

As part of our teacher training, we visited the Philippine Textile Research Institute to learn about Philippine fibers and textiles. It reminded us that meaningful learning begins with curiosity and attention to the world around us.

We’re grateful for opportunities to keep learning so we can bring that curiosity back to our classroom!

Nature as our classroom. 🌿

This week, the USC team spent time at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center learning with Anya Santos-Uy, an environmental educator, naturalist, and advocate for connecting children and communities with nature.

Through quiet observation, conversation, and reflection, we were reminded to slow down, look more closely, and stay curious about the living world around us. 🧡
