โ€ŽJoint Task Group (JTG) DEFENDER joined SM Supermalls and partner stakeholders in the International Coastal Clean-Up on 19 September 2026 at Brgy Bolasi, San Fabian, Pangasinan, mobilizing more or less 2,000 volunteers in support of Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo).

โ€ŽAnchored on the theme โ€œFrom Clean Plates to Clean Cities,โ€ the activity promoted reducing food waste, circular economies, responsible waste management, and collective action toward cleaner communities and healthier marine ecosystems.

โ€ŽBGEN RONALD M BAUTISTA PA, Commander, JTG DEFENDER, emphasized the importance of the West Philippine Sea to the countryโ€™s livelihood, food security, maritime heritage, and national interests. He underscored that protecting the countryโ€™s seas and coastal resources is a shared responsibility requiring sustained cooperation among government, the private sector, and local communities.

The 702nd Infantry (DEFENDER) Brigade, Philippine Army, conducted a Troop Information and Education (TI&E) activity on Juvenile Law to enhance the legal awareness and professionalism of its personnel.

โ€ŽMR. MARK N. FOLLOSCO, Planning Officer III, DSWD Region I, served as guest instructor and discussed the salient provisions of Republic Act No. 9344, or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, as amended by RA 10630. The discussion highlighted childrenโ€™s rights, proper procedures in dealing with minors, and the responsibilities of military personnel in protecting children at risk and children in conflict with the law.

DEFENDER BRIGADE PARTICIPATES IN 3RD QUARTER NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL

โ€ŽThe 702nd Infantry (Defender) Brigade, Philippine Army, participated in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) to strengthen disaster preparedness and enhance the readiness of its personnel in responding to earthquake-related emergencies.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽDuring the drill, Defender personnel performed the โ€œDuck, Cover, and Holdโ€ procedure, followed by an orderly evacuation to designated safe areas. The activity reinforced proper emergency response procedures, personnel accountability, and safety awareness.

โ€ŽThe Defender Brigade remains committed to promoting a culture of preparedness and resilience among its personnel and communities.
