𝐅𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐁𝐄𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐊

The 702nd Infantry (DEFENDER) Brigade, 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army, conducted its regular Spiritual Enlightenment and Values Enhancement at Bulwagang⁸ Tinyente Alfredo Parreñas, Camp Lt. Tito B. Abat, Manaoag, Pangasinan, on 21 August 2026, led by Rev. Fr Jerone Geronimo, OP, with the discussion centering on the faith and character of the Roman Centurion in the Gospel.

The lessons reflected on the four notable centurions in the New Testament—the Centurion of Capernaum, remembered for his extraordinary faith; the Centurion at the Cross, who recognized Jesus as the Son of God; Cornelius, known for his devotion, prayer, and generosity; and Julius, who showed fairness and consideration toward those under his custody.

Among them, the Centurion of Capernaum in Matthew 8:5–13 stood out for his humility and understanding of authority. He described himself as “a man under authority, with soldiers under me,” demonstrating that true leadership begins with knowing how to obey, lead, and take responsibility for others.

For the modern soldier, these stories remain relevant.
For the men and women of the 702nd Infantry (DEFENDER) Brigade, they serve as reminders that beyond rank and authority, a soldier is called to embody faith, discipline, humility, compassion, and responsibility in the fulfillment of duty.

While the battlefield, technology, and responsibilities of soldiers may change through the years, the values that define a soldier worthy of trust remain timeless.

The 702nd Infantry (DEFENDER) Brigade proudly congratulates Maj Ryan R Ramirez (INF) PA and Sgt Benjamin Ramos (FS) PA for their outstanding achievements during the 2nd Training Cycle CY 2026.

Maj Ramirez emerged as Top 1 out of 36 students in the PsyOps Course Class 85-2026, with an exceptional overall academic rating of 96.84%. He was likewise recognized as a recipient of the Commanding General, Philippine Army Award (Order of Emilio Aguinaldo).

Meanwhile, Sgt Ramos, was conferred with the Expert Skill Award with Silver Medal for obtaining an outstanding overall PFT average of 95.83% in Finance Non Commissioned Officer Advance Course.

Their achievements reflect the dedication, competence, discipline, and unwavering commitment to excellence of DEFENDER troopers in continuously enhancing their professional and physical capabilities in service to the nation.

𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗶𝗴, 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 – Humigit-kumulang 1,000 family food packs ang naipamahagi sa mga pamilyang naapektuhan ng Habagat sa Barangay Poblacion, Candelaria, Zambales. Matagumpay na naipamahagi ng Local Government Unit (LGU) ng Candelaria, Zambales, sa pangunguna ni Hon. Byron Jones E. Edquilang, katuwang ang Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) at ng Alpha (WARRIORS) Company ng 69TH Infantry (COUGAR) Battalion (69IB), sa pamumuno naman ni 1LT ALEX B PAZ (INF) PA.
Layunin ng aktibidad na makapagbigay ng agarang ayuda at suporta sa mga pamilyang nakaranas ng epekto ng patuloy na pag-ulan at masamang panahon, partikular sa kanilang pangunahing pangangailangan sa pagkain.
Ang bawat family food pack ay naglalaman ng mga pangunahing pagkain at iba pang kinakailangang suplay na makatutulong sa mga pamilya habang patuloy nilang hinaharap ang epekto ng kalamidad.
Naging mahalaga rin ang manpower at logistical assistance ng Alpha (WARRIORS) Company, 69IB, upang matiyak ang maayos, mabilis, at organisadong paghahatid at pamamahagi ng mga food packs sa mga benepisyaryo.
Patuloy na nakikiisa ang Alpha (WARRIORS) Company, 69IB, 7ID, PA sa mga programa ng lokal na pamahalaan at iba pang ahensya sa disaster response, humanitarian assistance, at iba pang community support activities, alinsunod sa hangaring mapangalagaan ang kapakanan at kaligtasan ng mga mamamayan.

The 702nd Infantry (DEFENDER) Brigade welcomed Assistant Secretary James A. Layug, MNSA, of the Department of Agriculture (DA), and Vice-Chairperson, Socio-Economic Cluster of NTF WPS and Chairperson, Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) of NTF ELCAC during a courtesy visit and coordination meeting at Headquarters, 702nd Infantry Brigade, Camp Lt Tito B. Abat, Manaoag, Pangasinan, on August 18, 2026.

The engagement brought together representatives from the DA Regional Field Office 1, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) RFO 1, along with the Brigade Key Leaders, Battalion Commanders under JTG DEFENDER, and Commander TG KAAKIBAT

The Battalion Commanders under JTG DEFENDER presented their proposed projects and initiatives for fisherfolk communities, geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA), and People's Organizations (POs) within their respective areas of operations (AO). Discussions also highlighted initiatives supporting fisherfolk and coastal communities, particularly in relation to the West Philippine Sea (WPS), where stronger government presence, livelihood support, and community resilience remain vital.

The DA likewise presented its initiatives and programs in support of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), emphasizing the importance of harmonizing development interventions with government efforts to address the root causes of conflict and strengthen vulnerable communities.

The coordination meeting provided an avenue to align the proposed projects of JTG DEFENDER units with the programs and resources of the DA and its partner agencies, particularly those aimed at strengthening livelihoods, improving access to government support, and addressing the needs of communities.

Through a whole-of-government approach, the JTG DEFENDER remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote resilient communities, sustainable livelihoods, strengthened WPS awareness and engagement, and lasting peace and development across its area of responsibility.

Ang 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army, sa pamamagitan ng nakahandang Search Rescue and Retrieval (SRR) Team, ay nananatiling nakaalerto at handang tumugon sa anumang pangangailangan sa pagsagip at paglikas ng mga mamamayang maaaring maapektuhan ng pagbaha sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng Lalawigan ng Tarlac.
Ang kahandaan ng SRR Team ay bahagi ng patuloy na pagtugon ng yunit sa mga posibleng epekto ng patuloy na pag-ulan dulot ng pinalakas na Habagat, partikular sa mga lugar na maaaring makaranas ng pagtaas ng tubig at pagbaha.
Patuloy din ang koordinasyon ng yunit sa Provincial Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), Municipal Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO), at iba pang concerned disaster response agencies upang matiyak ang mabilis at maayos na pagresponde sakaling magkaroon ng pangangailangan para sa rescue, evacuation, at iba pang humanitarian assistance.
Kaugnay nito, pinapayuhan ang publiko na manatiling mapagmatyag at alerto, regular na subaybayan ang mga opisyal na abiso hinggil sa lagay ng panahon, at agad na makipag-ugnayan sa mga kinauukulang awtoridad kung kinakailangan ang tulong o paglikas.
Patuloy na nakahanda ang 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion na makiisa sa mga lokal na pamahalaan at mga katuwang na ahensya sa pagpapanatili ng kaligtasan at kapakanan ng mga mamamayan ng Tarlac, lalo na sa panahon ng kalamidad.

BGen. Ronald M. Bautista Conducts Official Visit to Headquarters, 1st Brigade Combat Team

FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija - BGen. Ronald M. Bautista, PA, Commander of the 702nd Brigade, 7th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, conducted an official visit to the Headquarters of the 1st Brigade Combat Team (1BCT) at Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija, on August 05, 2026.

Upon his arrival, BGen. Bautista was accorded arrival honors by the troops of 1BCT and warmly welcomed by BGen. Von Albert M. Sumergido, Brigade Commander of 1BCT, together with the brigade's officers and enlisted personnel. The visit began with the signing of the guest book, followed by a briefing and discussion with the Brigade’s leadership.

The visit aimed to give BGen. Bautista along with his staff a better understanding of how the 1st Brigade Combat Team was established as the Philippine Army's first brigade Combined Arms and how it has successfully carried out its mission. The briefing outlined the unit's history, organization, key accomplishments, and the best practices that had helped build a capable and mission-ready force.

BGen. Bautista and the 1BCT leadership also exchanged ideas on leadership, force development, and operational readiness. He commended the officers and troops of 1BCT for their warm welcome, and their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to serve the nation and people.

Tactical Operations Group 3 (TOG 3) carried out an airlift relief operation to San Marcelino, Zambales, on August 15, 2026, in coordination with 69th Infantry "COUGAR" Battalion, the Office of Civil Defense III (OCD III) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development III (DSWD III), demonstrating the power of bayanihan in responding to communities affected by calamity.

Using an S-70i Black Hawk helicopter, TOG 3 transported 200 food packs and DSWD III personnel from Clark Air Base to the designated landing zone in Brgy. Santa Fe, San Marcelino, providing immediate assistance amid prevailing weather conditions that challenged ground access to affected communities.

The operation underscores the value of inter-agency bayanihan, where government agencies work together and maximize available capabilities to ensure that assistance reaches communities in need despite challenging conditions.

As weather conditions continue to be closely monitored, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) remains ready to sustain the relief operation alongside its partner agencies, supporting ongoing efforts to bring timely assistance and hope to affected communities.

ONE TEAM, ONE PURPOSE: DEFENDER BRIGADE STRENGTHENS KALASAG-LIWANAG PARTNERSHIPS

The 702nd Infantry (DEFENDER) Brigade brought together military and civilian partners from Pangasinan, Tarlac, Bataan, and Zambales for the KALASAG-LIWANAG Fun Shoot 2026 at MIG 3 Firing Range, Tarlac City.

Anchored on “Bridging Gaps, Forging Partnerships,” the activity strengthened camaraderie, meaningful engagement, and partnerships among the participants.
